Folks gonna have to pull their weight. We shouldn't do it for them any longer.
Wow, Canada and Mexico would prefer to have a trade war, they can not win, rather than help stop illegal immigration and drug trafficking into our country.
I’m trying to make sense of your headline. Are you thinking it’s “commie” (and therefore unjustified) when another country imposes tariffs on the USA, but “MAGA” (and therefore perfectly reasonable) when the USA imposes tariffs on another country?

We have a winner. This will skyrocket inflation in Canada and Mexico. This will also last only as long as the commie is still in charge and that isn't long. Mexico will be forced to renegotiate a favorable to the US trade deal. They are barely holding on to Mexico city let alone northern Mexico. Corruption is thoer standard government. We have let thier crap go on for to long. I like starting with cleaning up our own house.
Lets see how this plays out. I would absolutely love an American economy based on tariffs.

Well your question was, is it Commie because he imposes tariffs? His Political Ideology and Tariffs are not the same thing. Tariffs are not a Political ideology.
Oh, you’re right. I was thinking you were responding to my question asked of @Tulsaaggieson. My bad. No one is suggesting tariffs are an ideology. Anyone with any sense recognizes they are an authoritarian tool. The suggestion in the title makes it sounds like a communist tool, but if America imposes tariffs that’s a good thing, a solid “MAGA” thing, perfectly acceptable, as if MAGA does it there’s nothing authoritarian about it. I’m just seeking clarification if that’s what he was getting at.

Yes, like I said that was my mistake. I’m sorry you think I’m twisting your intent, but you have to admit your headline threw in some confusion by suggesting Canada’s tariffs are “commie” tariffs, which leads one to ask the question I asked. I meant you no ill will by asking the question.
The confusion came in tying tariffs to the “little commie.”

I’ve made it clear I am against tariffs no matter who imposes them. It’s an argument I lost and will continue to lose as long as political emotional appeal surpasses economic sensibility.

He makes some excellent points. No one in his right mind should think an American GDP of roughly $27.4 trillion would be dragged asunder by a so-called trade deficit of roughly $41 billion. But it will harm the economy, as does every tariff, and there will be some people that will be ruined, much like the Midwest farmers and small manufacturers during Trump’s first term. I guess those whose lives are destroyed are not important in the big pucture.
Been hearing since at least the 80s that farmers were on the verge of financial ruin. According to my dad, it actually dates back to the 40s and 50s. According to my grandfather, it actually dates back to the 20s. Go figure.
