Trump has decided to build his wall out of steel. I've read that $5 billion will get him 200 miles, plus or minus. (I'll bet on the minus. Government projects always cost way more than the original proposal claims.) Trump is saying that is a good thing because it will be made out of US steel which will be beneficial to the steel industry, provide jobs, etc. At the same time he has single-handedly imposed a tariff on cheaper foreign steel which has jacked up the price for all steel and steel products in the US. I wonder how many more miles he could have gotten out of our 5 billion tax dollars if he had not imposed the tariffs. It's as if one policy is counteracting against the other. Ironic.
