The internet hardly ever makes me LOL but this did it

<SeriousPost>Not really. Just enjoying poking at the irrational optimism of those on this board. There are substantial concerns moving forward. Well articulated by Mega and others that I believe put further prosperity at risk and could lead to new levels of global conflict. None of that would be good for my family, my company, my country or my portfolio.</SeriousPost>
He's been President one day. I think the hysteria of the left is dumb and I base that on who Trump was before he became the ire of the left.

I was irrationally optimistic about 0bama as well. I should probably become an eternal pessimist. I'm just excited there is an opportunity to MAYBE finally go in the direction I thought we were going to be led in 2009 before reality hit.

You can lead the charge of I told you so if Trump doesn't get results and I won't complain. I've lived with the I told you so's from my Aggie brother since 2009, so another 4 years ain't no thing.

Oh geez. Two reasons I'm not a Republican or "conservative." Point taken, but neither of those cuck faces represent my beliefs.
Nor do those getting pepper sprayed last night on the Burnside Bridge represent my beliefs. But 'tis the season to push all things to one fringe or the other.

I don't associate you with those getting pepper sprayed. There's no way you're getting dirt on your clothes. :D

Only if it was something fun like getting up in the tree or building a new work shop out back... for that I enjoy getting dirty. Rubbing up against a bunch of hippies and wannabe anarchists - not so much.

You genuinely seem hopeful of a failed Trump presidency.

He's genuinely hopeful he is able to continue feeling superior or legitimized...which comes with each and any Trump failure. Right now, it's all projection...there are zero data points of Trump being President...which DA and all the other liberal weirdos seem remiss in comprehending.

He appointed Scott Pruitt and Rick Perry. I don't know much about his other appointees but those two are world class shitbirds.

Has that tangibly affected anybody at this point?

What value system do you serve? Ie: what are tangible reasons you project they are bad picks?

You feeling a certain way about them, at this early point, doesn't carry any weight in persuading me.

Well no. They haven't had time to screw anything up yet. I'm not ever going to persuade you. I honestly don't know where to begin with Pruitt and Perry. Pruitt is incompetent, corrupt, a shill for whoever will help him, and I have never heard a single person that knows him and likes him. And that includes conservatives. He sued Colorado to keep them from legalizing pot

My introduction to Rick Perry was when he went to Houston to lead prayers at the Astrodome. He prayed for rain. A week later Texas was ravaged by the worst wildfires ever.

Trump is not draining the swamp, he's dredging it.

I'm certainly persuadable with legitimate evidence. So if you make a legit case, and our value systems have overlap, I can "come around."

You cite a prayer for rain followed up by a wildfire as ...what exactly? I'm laughing trying to figure out what you mean by that?

I just thought the prayer and wildfire thing at the time should've been a game ender. Trump would've put him out of the race with that. "God doesn't want him. It's a sign."

You do realize you can insert just about any career politician into that there phrase, right? Even your precious 0bama.

You have a raging hardon for conservatives, but will willingly wear a blackout lampshade on your head about anything liberal/Democrat, including the exact shit you rant about. I guess I just don't get being a total partisan cheerleader. Seems brainless.

You are right about that. For what it's worth, I'm unimpressed by Pruitt as well but the rest I think are pretty solid. Mattis alone is superior to Obama's entire cabinet.

Serious ask Brad, do you support Perry at DOE and if so, what in your mind is his greatest qualification for that particular post?

I am going to feel superior regardless, call it a character defect. I have high self confidence, high risk tolerance, middle to high intelligence, and reasonable self awareness. What you see on this board is an exaggeration of many of those attributes.

As to data points, the ones I do have point in a tenuous direction at best. I would suggest your optimism is about as well justified as my pessimism. Unless of course you know something the rest of us don't - if so please share....
