Just to clear some things up. The last thread was deleted due to the direction it was headed and has some misinformation running a course that didn't need run. Regardless of feelings, there is a family that sees/feels some injuries from the rumor mill. They are still Cowboys and I don't think they want that to change.

There are obviously some issues that need to be remedied, but it evidently isn't that bad. There are a few very strained relationships, but they aren't believed to be terrible with DT and CS. They actually communicate some and unless you were sitting with them, the true words can't be known.

Anyway, I spoke with Jessica. They LOVE of OSU and they LOVE Wrestling! Maybe one day, CS will be in the fold with the Program again. Currently, that isn't the case. BUT, she assured me that they are not working AGAINST us. They want to be in Stillwater and they want Wrestling to flourish! The Farm is meant to help, promote and improve Wrestling.

The only thing I, myself, see as a potential problem is leverage on recruits. But, it is going to be super hard to recruit kids away from Stillwater while they are in Stillwater. I also hold her at her word that everything really is fine outside of some relationships that muddy the waters information wise. It's clearly not kumbahya, but it's not strained as the rumor mill outlines it.

Obviously we have a great story and program to sell so IDK that it will make that much difference one way or the other, but man, some of the comments are tough. That’s not to say things couldn’t have been handled way better from OSU/ John Smith side towards CS and JS but when someone is directly recruiting for someone else in your backyard, hard to feel lots of support for that. Just my .02

Makes sense from Coleman’s perspective as a father and husband to stick around in Stillwater for a while. They’ve already uprooted once in coming from Chapel Hill to Stillwater and that stuff is HARD on kids to do once, much less twice in two years. I have no idea how it’ll affect recruiting one way or another but I doubt it could does harm to elevate the skills of local kids while simultaneously bringing in folks from around the country to see what Stillwater has to offer.

Just thinking of it purely from a business perspective, it makes sense to me that CS and The Farm would want OSU wrestling to be as stacked with talent as possible. Having a bunch of world class wrestlers in the same town available to work as clinicians without having to pay for travel and room/board is nothing but a boon for them.

Also, it would make sense for CS to want to be a part of OSU Wrestling.

If M2 came to town and did the same thing, it would probably put a serious strain on the finances the farm?

I sure hope things can get squashed (even if miniscule) so that everyone can prosper.

I think we can all easily say that we’ve loved and supported CS as a Cowboy for almost 20 years now. We all did back flips when we heard he was coming home. Even the people who supported hiring DT were sick at their stomach for CS. That’s why it sucks to hear some of these recent rumblings. It’s not up to me to say whats true but I think this situation fits the old adage about there being three sides to every story... yours, mine, and the truth.

One thing I think we can all agree on is that there is nothing we’d like more than to see CS back in the fold at some point. I hope the camps are a mutual benefit to Coleman & his family, Oklahoma youth wrestling, and the OSU Cowboys.
