I find it LAUGHABLE that we are supposed to believe that Thayer Evans doesn't have an axe to grind with OSU.
He said they were looking to do a story on a program that had a rapid rise. Of course there are lots of choices out there (Baylor, Stanford, Clemson, Oregon, etc) but Thayer Evans chose the university where his parents attended, where he grew up going to games (but never actually said he as a fan of OSU), and of course the rival of OU (he worked for OUinsider).

Sports Illustrated's preconceived notion was to publish a piece exposing corruption in college football. That is what we are told now that the 5 piece report is complete. We are to believe they started the investigation completely oblivious that corruption was taking place, they only suspected it due to OSU's "meteoric rise" of 10 years to a single conference championship and BCS bowl. But in order to fill a 5 part piece they knew they would have to find a lot of evidence covering a multitude of types of infractions or this would all be a waste of time and no publishable content means no money. So either they were going to waste their time and money or they were going to ensure this was a major report worthy of the Sports Illustrated cover and 5 separate parts. Last time I checked you don't make money as a freelance writer if you don't have something to write.

"it is no secret what a huge, enormous, gigantic Oklahoma homer Thayer Evans is." Jason Whitlock

"Everyone is just waiting for Chokie State to once again live up to its nickname under Gundy." Thayer Evans

"And if this season is going to be any different for Gundy, even one of his best players can't tell you why. When asked why people should believe that Oklahoma State won't disappoint, Weeden was at a loss for words.
"I don't know," Weeden said. "We're not worried about it."
Weeden actually makes a good point. You can't worry about what's inevitable." Thayer Evans

But the best thing that happened to Oklahoma State this season actually was what it considers its worst: the 37-31 double-overtime loss at Iowa State in November. That embarrassing but inevitable Chokie State moment cost the Cowboys control of their own BCS title game fate. Thayer EvansThayer Evans rips "Chokie State"

Thayer Evans is just a hack period. He wrote a story quoting some high school coach in Louisiana as saying he saw one of his players with money after he visited Auburn. The high school coach in question later called another media member and told them he didnt give any of the quotes in Thayer Evans' article. Gayer also came out with several other negatve articles about Auburn that didnt really prove squat during the whole Cam Newton saga

Thayer Evans is a hack and not a good one at that...

But, your team's performance today, does seem to fit his description...
