Teacher Pay

there are worthless teachers/admin making over $100,000 a year....I'm talking ones who've been around for at least 20 years. Then there are some who are making $50,000 a year (BA degree only) but they work half a day and 7 months a year.

I'm a 5th year teacher, I only have a bachelor's degree and prior to any proposed raises, my base salary was $35,386.61 and that includes my heath insurance and benefits, it does not include my retirement which is a little less than $2,400 a year and falls just a bit each school year.

Most months this 2017-2018 school year, my take home salary was right around $2,200 (on a 12 month pay schedule). It will be in my 17th year at this district that I get over $40,000 (again this is prior to any pay raises that may go through after the summer).

Admittedly, my district pays less than others. At TPS, according to their pay schedule, it would be the 15th year, Putnam City Schools, 13th year.

I'd be more than happy to take a picture of my pay stub.

Where are these teachers that make $50,000+ a year? How many years have they been working? 25? 30? More?

The number that always blows my mind is the per pupil spending extrapolated across a classroom. If Oklahoma spends roughly $8k per student, and there are 25 students in a classroom, that's $200k. If the teacher plus teacher benefits equals $65k, where does the other $135k go? The numbers just never add up to me.
