P3. Heil takes down. Heil up, peels the hands off and out quick on his own in 7 seconds.
Dean on a shot from space, secures a headlock but he cant get around. Ties cleared. and time ends.
OT. This could go on awhile. Joey with a deep shot. Got a leg up and Dean bouncing on 1 leg. Joey throws him by hoping to grab Deans other leg but Dean gets his free leg back . Joey still has a hold of one leg while standing. Dean trying to free his other leg but Joey not letting go. Joey standing around way to long with Deans leg and Dean reaches down grabbing Joeys leg. Dean now with a leg, coming around from behind and gaining height. Now in better position as Joey desperately holding on to a leg. Heil lets go of the Joeys leg and covers the hips wrapping himself around the back. And the ref awards 2 Takedown.. What a beautiful roll to get Joeys leg then come out for the TD. DEAN HEIL does it again. Unbelievable. Dean is pumped. 3-1 DEAN HEIL
OSU up 9-0 WOW You gotta see that one on FLO replay. I promise that roll move was worth the price of a subscription to FLO by itself. You ll never see a better one than that. Joey had Deans leg locked up but Dean just fought through with some amazing defense.

285 Austin Marsden # 5 vs Nathan Butler #19.

Still no takedown for Stanford. geez.
P1. Nathan is equally big. Should be a good match. Austin being conservative. No attacks and the period ends. No score.
P2. marsden takes down. Marsden up and out in 2 seconds. 1-0 Nathan controlling the middle of the mat. Ref keeps asking for action. Restarts them in the middle. Probably not gonna happen. Might stall them both. Marsden takes a half shot. No one interested in making a legit shot. and the period ends.
P3. Butler takes down. ya gotta like Austin chances for a rideout but NO. Butler out in 7 seconds.
1 minute to go and still zero action as the ref pleads for offense. LOL
40 seconds to go. 20 seconds. End of regulation. 1-1
SV 1 Shot by Butler defended by Marsden. ref warns for fingers. Deep shot by Butler. Marsden gets the hips back, defends, goes around but Butler stands up. Marsden around behind, lifts and Butler trying to get off the mat as they go down. Marsden graps both legs on the edge. TAKEDOWN!!! 3-1 Marsden.
41-0 good guys. Not a single takedown for Stanford.

Very dominating performance with the shutout & both types of falls!!!.....Thanks so much for the updates & detail!!!!!

I wonder when the last time for the Ringer to give up 2 stalling points? Ringer was chasing that guy all over the mat and ref hits him. Crazy!

Did ringer give up 2 stall points to Lewis from Mizzou or just 1?
I believe he gave up two to Lewis but the ones today were just bogus. How can you get called for stalling when you have chased him in every situation.Collica with 3 straight falls and beau coup takedowns in his last three matches. Andrew Marsden looked impressive today and I do not know who you start at 197 but it is getting close to John having to make the call. Marsden much more fun to watch but Weigel is able to keep matches close with defense and riding. I vote for Andrew but of course I do not have a vote. In the premier matchup of the day Heil vs. McKenna. McKenna made the more solid shots but was out-scrambled. Most of the match McKenna's feet were in a different area code. I do not know how Heil could come close to a takedown. He is a devil to take down but Heil is the better and craftier wrestler. BTW, Kudos to Wheeling He wrote it the way I saw it in person and did a great job of play by play.

On the stall call, he actually shot him out of bounds...which I don't think is stalling in any situation.

Ringer stall call was hard to swallow, he literally shot him off the mat....but I also think the multiple stall calls on the Stanford kid were questionable too. If the aggressor cuts off every avenue the other guy has, how can he make an honest attempt to get back on the mat? They used to call this in freestyle all the time....you'd actually hear the ref telling him to let him back on the mat.

Anyway...Heil wrestled a very smart match. He knows he can't trade takedowns with JM so he makes a bunch of decent shots, that put him in no real danger....which forces JM to shoot back and Dean knows he has a great chance to score defensively. Dean put himself in position to win and took advantage. Smart kid, smart coach.

watch the replay and notice how fast Heil gets his free leg away when JM limp arms out of the whizzer and dives for the other leg. He literally took a swing and a miss trying to catch DH's other leg. JM keeps the one leg but then just walks around with it not really sure what he wants to do next. Heil sees a nice opportunity to grab a leg of his own and boom. Hes the quicker of the two to get altitude, turn into JM and cover the hips. Hes quicker to everything than JM is. maybe not as strong but everything is so automatic for Dean. Dean converts every opportunity. JM does not. That must really get in JMs head.
