Something You Won’t Read, But You Should

Looks like ole' Hank was quite the reformer & inovator on economic methods. Tariffs/taxes are one in the same, his focus was on the land taxes. Strong opinions in 1879. Quit livinng in the past [P-DAN]

Who was Henry George?

Henry George (September 2, 1839 – October 29, 1897) was an American political economist and journalist. His writing was immensely popular in 19th-century America and sparked several reform movements of the Progressive Era.
Henry George is a product of America. His contribution to modern economic thought grew out of the experience of America–its freedom of opportunity, its incentives for invention and production, its march of material progress.

Henry George was known for propounding the land value tax or the system of single tax levy on land. He is also famous for writing the book ‘Progress and Poverty’ during 1879.

Henry George (born September 2, 1839, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—died October 29, 1897, New York City, New York) was a land reformer and economist who in Progress and Poverty (1879) proposed the single tax: that the state tax away all economic rent—the income from the use of bare land but not from improvements—and abolish all other taxes.

Henry George is not the author of the opinion piece. However, his thinking was highly influential to the political thought of the great libertarian-anarchist, Albert J. Nock, author of *Our Enemy, The State,” which I would estimate is one of the top ten most important libertarian tracts of the last century. I’d recommend you read it, but you didn’t read the link, so I won’t waste my time. Besides, it would probably make your head explode as you read political opinion you did not know existed.

Trade is free when both parties voluntarily agree yo the terms. It’s not free when government agents dictate the terms.
Terms? If either or both parties are imposing terms, but especially when one party enjoys more favorable terms, then by definition there is a restriction on freedom, and hence, no free trade. Once again, you have shown yourself to be an “internet intellectual” who thinks he knows more than he does. Stay in your lane, floor boy.

I read the link, idiot. It inspired me to check on just who Henry was. You did not check on his obviously.

By definition a trade requires terms. In a free market both sides must accept those terms or the trade is not consummated. When a government in a country like China interferes and imposes restrictions that are detrimental to its own citizens, such as imposing tariffs, it is illogical for a government in a country like ours to impose similarly detrimental restrictions on us.

Alert! Alert! Water is wet.

Nevertheless. There is no free trade in that scenario. There’s also nothing “free” about a country whose entire population are slaves to the collective dumping their cheap shitty products on American consumers.

And there you have it. Dan said himself that he is the most expensive Janitorial Service. He likes those Cheap Chiney products so he can gouge his customers. Tariffs on those goods will make it harder for him to gouge them without raising his prices as he is already the most expensive per himself.
Reminds me of a guy I used to know that worked for a Company like Dan's. The owner was so damn cheap he made his workers carry the cleaning rags and mop heads home so they could wash them in their own Washing Machines instead of his own. Why wear out your washing machine and use your electricity, use your water and detergent and dryer when you can make the scrubs that work for you do it for free!

You apparently don’t know what a central vacuum system is. I am in the construction business, not janitorial services. The fact that neither you nor SiL have the foggiest notion of what a free market is or how it works must be a testimonial to your piss poor education at OU. You should read up on the subject to overcome your subpar education.

Doesn't matter what you actually do, the jist of it all remains the same. You charge your customers a high price, you said yourself that you are the most expensive. But when it happens to you then you go all Karen. Do your customers throw a fit like you do when you quote them and bill them?
Owning your own business is a challenge, markets change, prices go up, etc etc. You have to change with them or you won't be in business very long. Crying about it never got anyone anywhere. Adapt, adjust and work out a game plan to tackle it. Come on Dan, you know that or should know it as smart as you claim to be.

Central vacuum system... how 1960's. Do you still listen to 8 tracks too?

Screw "free" trade. We want fair trade.

When you have nothing left in your armor, break with this board's unwritten decorum and go after the other guy's school. Nice meltdown, boy_wonder.

Congrats Commietard Dan, you have become the boards last dumb**** Libtard! Please don't leave or threaten to leave again, who would we have left to make fun of? You top them all so far. Hell even my 2putas would be very glad you surpassed his stupidity. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Do you tell your Poor Education Customers from OU that they can't afford your services or do you steal their money too? My guess is the latter just like you would anyone elses. I bet you are the Slum Lord of Vacuum systems where you operate.

No, Steve Owens, JJ Watt, Kelvin Sampson, Bob Stoops, Cale Gundy, Lincoln Riley and others had plenty of dough to spread around.

Did you tell them they were shit before you took their money or after?
You’re right, I shouldn’t be so hard on OU. Its acceptance rate has to be pretty high, so I’m sure there are plenty of substandard students that slip through the cracks. It’s probably not your fault that your attention span was so short you couldn't sit through an hour of lecture without your mind wandering off. It stands to reason you missed the part about the superiority of free markets in raising the standard of living for all.

Yeah its funny your colleagues here don't claim you. What does that say about your dumbass?

An Aggy talking $hit about education? There's a new low. Stoops is a business partner with one of my son's. Think I'm gonna' inquire about some negative pressure business.

Inquire away! Bob Stoops was an interesting guy. I don’t think I’ve ever met a famous person that came across as uncomfortable in his own skin as he did. Extremely likeable!
