After watching last night's game, something really jumped out at me. There is a strong chance that this is the first time, since his first season at OSU, that Ford has a combination of a player who is comfortable posting up (Olivier) and a PG who is comfortable working the ball into the paint. In actuality, he has 2 PG who qualify. Anthony Hickey saved OSU in a handful of games last season, but he was not adept at passing into the paint or penetrating into the paint. Griffin, in limited minutes, was much better at both.

Last night, it was clear that both Griffin and Evans are always looking to penetrate into the interior, draw the defense and dish. They were also looking to pass it to the big men down low. Griffin and Solomon ran a nice pick and roll early in the game. Olivier received plenty of entry passes last night and they almost always resulted in something good.

For the last few years, the OSU offense has mostly been about passing it around the perimeter looking for an open shot, or about Nash trying to take someone off the dribble. This season, Ford might just have the roster needed to run an offense that most OSU fans have been clamoring for since the season where we had Moses in the paint and Eaton running the point.
