During the interview, she stated that a discussion about getting her on the Apprentice was the basis for getting her to his bedroom the one time the deed was done and the second time when he wanted to do the deed again, which she left before doing.
And to be explicit, I’m not saying any of this (sex with a porn star while married) is anything but skeevy behavior by Trump. Certainly nothing of removal from office. There was some interesting discussion about whether the timing and conduct of the settlement violate election campaign financing laws, but Trump schtupping her was just garden variety grossness. Remarkably similar to Clinton/Lewinsky, IMO with the notable exception that Trump hasn’t lied about it UNDER OATH (yet).

Actually, that opinion is about Bob Livingston...a Republican.
And it was an opinion of an individual writer rather than the editorial board of the NYT.
The point, I’m sure, remains with those corrections...maybe...probably...I don’t know.
Don't be naive, the only reason that editorial was published about a Republican was because Bill Clinton was in the middle of the Lewinsky scandal. If you forgive the Republican the same standard goes for Clinton.
Frankly I thought the whole Clinton impeachment was a giant joke. Clinton is a corrupt snake, Frank Rich proves that but he was duly elected and the lie he told in court wasn't worthy of impeachment. Elections is the preferred method of changing leadership unless there is a serious incident that would dramatically affect national security or the financial stability to the USA.
Fornicating with consenting partners is way down on my list of sh!t to worry about. Desire for sex is a powerful urge that has complicated things since man evolved and it isn't ever going away unless we all become cyborgs, and maybe not even then.

Frankly I was underwhelmed. Of course he had unprotected sex with a porn star. Probably the playmate, too. Of course they're trying to shake him down. Of course he dangled The Apprentice in front of her to get her in bed. Of course his wife doesn't care as long as his checks clear.

You might want to look into the author’s other writings before claiming to be in her head and know why she wrote it. You might also want to do a little research into a single opinion published and it being the official position of the NYT. I routinely read point/counterpoint opinion pieces in the NYT. That doesn’t mean that is both oppositeopinions are the official position of the paper. Those are written by members of the actual editorial board.
I do agree that if you forgive the Republican, the standard applies for Slick Willie as well. Of course, there are people that forgave Billand are indicting Trump. There are also folks that were all up in arms about Willie that don’t give a damn about Trump. We call both those people hypocrites.
Me personally? Fidelity to one’s spouse is something I care about. Someone lacking the same is a moral failing, IMO. Does it disqualify someone from office, IMO? No.
Indicted on six charges. Acquitted by jury on one. Mistrial due to a deadlocked jury on the other five. DOJ didn’t refill those five. Political career ended, but no conviction.
Yes sir. In a way, I don’t blame a political opponent for flinging poo at every opportunity, but I don’t see a different outcome in this case.

I am guilty of these two positions but it has less to do with hypocrisy and more to do with me growing up and seeing the world differently.
If I could go back in time and coach myself on the subject, I would tell myself to not be overly concerned with Mr. Clinton's actions in this regard. Other than the lying part, Mr. Clinton's actions had no negative impact on the job that he did as president. Similarly, I don't see how Mr. Trump's more recent and somewhat similar actions will have a negative impact on his abilities to do his job.
