So far Ok State is only team that has 0 wrestlers on track. Wondering if anyone knows who might be going. I believe 15 can go as scorers, highest scorer at each weight is designated scorer. Also red shirts can go unattached. Going to take a shot at guessing. We have clear starters at all weights except 133 and 174, so I think those 8 go. Garcia and Crutchmer probably both go as do both of Crutchmer and rogers. That leaves three scoring spots, I would guess miller, Bean, and Dolan. I could see Koo go as well. I wild most like to see C Rogers and Harding go unattached, also would like to see Blees, Marsteller and Weigel.

Can't wait! Midlands will have to fill in for the next few days.

They have updated the number of wrestlers for OSU, there are 15 going. I assume none of the redshirts are going if that is accurate.

This should be a very good barometer to determine where the team is. I see that 184 has a lot of ranked wrestlers so we should have a good feel about Nolan Boyd and where he is in his development. If he places in the top 4 there he should be moved up in the polls to the top 8 in the weight. Something tells me he has made a massive leap and the loss to Pfhar was not indicitive to where he is now.

we got the same seats as last yr....cant wait to get down there and watch our guys compete. this is a great barometer for not only boyd but our whole team. leave it on the mat guys and we will see who is jumping levels. Go Pokes

I only heard part of the John Smith show last night and they didn't talk about which wrestlers were traveling. Did anyone else hear this discussed?

Track now lists 17 for OSU, I hope one is Harding and I would like to see either C Rogers or Wiegel as the other.

Sorry I am not good with computers/links
Anyway OSU seeded wrestlers

125 #6 Klimara
133 #12 Harding
141 #8 Heil
149 #1 Kindig
157 #8 Collica
165 #1 Deiringer
165#12 C. Rogers
174 #7 J. Rogers
174 #9 B. Krutchmer
184 #5 N. Boyd
Heavyweight #1 Marsden

No seeded wrestler for OSU at 197

OK State has three #1 seeds in Kindig, Dierenger and Marsden but the next highest seed is Nolan Boyd at #5. JMO, but I think Dean Heil has the best shot at improving his seed the most. He is not under seeded due to only having one match with a nationally ranked wrestler but I think he is flying under the radar and will surprise. Nolan Boyd is in a very tough bracket (not as tough as 125) but based on the way he is wrestling right now I think he can move up and move into the top ten at this weight;.
Josh Kindig is over seeded at # 1 and this has to be based on last year's NCAA finish. I think his chances of beating Houdashelt are not good-hope I am wrong. Not a particularly strong field but I note the absence of Villalonga in the pre-seeds-do not know what is up with that. At 125 Eddie has a very tough path to navigate with Garrett, Waters and Conaway and Tyler Cox and Darian Cruz all seeded ahead of him. The top 8 seeds at 133 are all ranked high and if this is indeed the debut of GWH in a major tournament he is going to have a very hard time getting to the podium at all. No knock on Gary Wayne but these are all tough seasoned wrestlers. Anthony Collica seeded 8th at 147 ad there are some very strong and big wrestlers at this weight seeded ahead of him.
Alex Dierenger is seeded #1 and should finish #1. Chandler Rogers is seeded #12 and despite his poor showing in Reno I believe he can finish ahead of this seeding. At 174 I have not seen anything out of Rogers or Crutchmer to warrant seeding either of them. I am out of the business of waiting for one of them to catch fire and I do not think it will happen but anything is possible.
we are not seeded at 197 and at this stage why would we be. Austin Marsden is the #1 seed at heavyweight and last year I would have said this was too high. He has impressed in his early bouts this year and looks quicker and more aggressive. I hope this is a breakout tournament for him and that he can solidify his early season rankings.

Agree obe....the first thing I thought when I saw the seeds was that Dean could really make some noise. Collica could too but that bracket is strong.

Marsteller and Koo at 157, Davey Dolan at 141, Luke Bean at 197. Harding RS could be pulled at Scuffle.

Obe i cant wait to see you there and they can earn it on the mat or not. Houdeshelt is a bad matchup for kindig but i agree that until he loses he should keep the ranking. this tournament is loaded at a bunch of weights and looks much tougher than midlands and will give us a true gage of where we are. no excuses as we are in january now. glad they brought gwh.... if he can do well here than pull him, if not leave him r/s. i'm bringing my mom and son with l8 agin to represent the poke nation.

Go Pokes

They have a write up about scuffle at okstate.com, says GWHs shirt will be burnt. Also I'm not sure what I was thinking about with4 unattached earlier, possibly I was throwing in Koo, but we have 15 scorers and 2 unattached( C Rogers and Marsteller).

I am leaving for Chattanooga within the hour. Kevin, I will be looking for the M&M boys there and hopefully Mom can keep them under control particularly l8 agin.

let's scuffle

Brackets posted. http://www.gomocs.com/pdf9/3075410.pdf?ATCLID=209830030&SPSID=877410&SPID=149108&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=17700

The scuffle is finally here......gives us (PSU & OSU) a chance to see where our teams are. Though I'm not fond of some of Flo's short comings, I am happy I spent the $ for a couple of months of happiness.

I just saw the brackets and noticed Chance is at 165. We had hoped he would be at 157 to see a possible clash of two seriously talented prospects! Nolf could see Realbuto in his second bout......baptism of fire wouldn't you say???

Hope many of you can view.....should be fun!

I will be viewing, but I wish I was with some of our most favorite posters there. I will look at brackets now.

Klimara up first on mat 4

Crutchmer on 7

GWH on deck mat 2

Crutchmer is at 174. Track had me scared....they showed Marsden losing by fall. Results were backwards.

Eddie looking good today with a fall and tf

Collica was leading 2-0 with over 1 minute riding time in the first and I lost my connection. He was in control, but by the time I got logged back in the match was over.

Chandler Rogers is up against someone from Tennessee Chattanooga on mat 2.

Rogers pinned Justin Lampke in 1:26 with a quick takedown and worked a half with a chicken wing for a fall.

Marstellar is up on mat 1 and ahead 4-2 in the 1st period against Ethan Ramos of North Carolina.

Marstellar is putting on a takedown clinic against Ramos. I seem to recall Ramos from the NCAA tournament last year.
Marstellar got three takedowns and an escape. Ramos scored on three escapes and got a stalling point at the end for a 7-4 Marstellar win.

I must be wrong about seeing Ramos at Nationals last year as Wrestling stats has him as 11-4 ranked 25 and a redshirt freshman.

He probably belongs at 165 and the pull to 157 was just too much.

Mars teller wins 8-5 with RT.
He has trunks for legs. slick on his takedowns, but is fairly flatfooted, gives a lot of access to his legs, but never taken down. It was very close once.

Jordan rogers had a fall in 1:46 and was dominant. I noticed Eblan of Missouri got pinned in the first period by a Michigan wrestler. Did not see the match, but results were surprising.

Nolan Boyd had a tech fall in 3:48 to win 16-0
Crutchmer won by regular decision I think it was 10-4 and had just released, but could not get the last takedown for the major.

Bernstein of Navy defeats Johnston of Mizzou 6-4 in the first period of overtime. Many were thinking that Johnston should AA this year. It is tough to tell on Flo, but he looked gassed.

Brackets show Eblan advancing.

maybe he got a defensive fall, but it showed the match was over and the other guy had a 2-0 lead at the time.

shaffer looses to a true freshman in chip ness in ot. he look to have slow feet and he couldn't finish a shot. disappointing.
