If the individual is convicted of domestic abuse part of the sentence can be to take away your firearm. If you are just taking a fire arm because of the accusation of abuse and issue a PO or temporary restraining oder with no trial, then no you should not get to take the fire arm. The constitution is very specific on that one. No person shall....be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. The judge should not be able to to take your liberty or property without a jury. The jury decides not the judge. Have the trial and then take the fire arm after they are found guilty. If you are concerned about the person using thier arm put the victim under protection and let the legal system work.
