Less than 24 hours after losing the College World Series, it appears Texas A&M is also set to lose head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
Schlossnagle is expected to take the vacant coaching job at Texas, sources told On3 Sports' Pete Nakos.
The Aggies lost Monday's Game 3 of the College World Series finals 6-5 to Tennessee. Following the game, Schlossnagle took a reporter to task for asking him about his future and potential interest in the Texas job.
"I think it's pretty selfish of you to ask me that question, to be honest with you," Schlossnagle said, according to KVUE's Jeff Jones. "I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M. I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again, and that hasn't changed in my mind."
Schlossnagle amassed a 135-62 record in three seasons at Texas A&M, including a pair of College World Series appearances. The 53-year-old also previously coached at UNLV and TCU before joining Texas A&M ahead of the 2022 campaign.
