Not all of the Founding Fathers were “Christians” in today’s understanding of the term. Many of them considered themselves to be Deists who believed in a “clockwork universe.” Nevertheless many of them *were* committed Christians and their Biblical (ethical) understanding was central to their joining in the Revolution, which would not have succeeded without them. Knowing that it is not unreasonable to teach those Biblical principles as just as important to the creation of the new nation as the writings of John Locke and especially Thomas Paine who is arguably the most important intellectual voice of the time and he was an atheist. It is a denial of historical truth to forbid teaching the importance of the Bible to the creation of our country.

To be clear: the educator in the link spoke solely about that historical truth and made no mention of an effort to ram Christianity down anyone's throat. I will rise up in condemnation with you, @ClintonDavidScott, if that becomes the case. But I think you are jumping the gun at this point. You seem to be a little hair-triggered looking for something to be mad about. Take a deep breath and let’s see how this plays out.

I think the Biden admin is more inclined to homoism Dan.

I went back and watched the video link again. He stressed the *historical* importance of the Bible to our country’s creation. He said *nothing* about teaching the Bible in classrooms in an effort to endorse a religion. You are being overly sensitive about this. Chill!
Gays will never purport the bible no matter the Vatican's views. These days the Vatican is promoting homo views.

A much greater influence on the constitution was John Locke and his treatise on government as well as Thomas Hobbs and his writings in Leviathan. Then add in the Magna Carta.

By the way, I think the Bible was a very minor influence in the constitution. The foundational principle is 'the consent of the governed' and that's not a biblical principle.

Why are the libs even questioning the Constitution's point on this topic? Don't they all believe its just an old document written by a bunch of rich, white, slave-owners that no longer represent this country? Or is the Constitution back in vogue for libs this week?

No it's lack of self awareness on your part.
It's always the same with your kind. When you think the Constitution supports one of your positions you wrapped the Constitution around yourself like a emotional support blanket. When the Constitution stands in the way of your positions you trash it.
