so, I actually liked Romney, seemed like a good dude. I have a huge problem with him coming out and bashing Trump today saying he would be disastrous for the party and country. If he felt so strongly, why didn't he run himself and beat him.

It is chickenshit to not run, but from the sideline complain. Trump will have a field day with this one.

I think it hurts trump in the long run...too many republicans are coming out against him. I guess we'll see if he can turn it in to a favorable situation for him. Not likely. It really muddies the water and helps the pant suit liar. It will be easy to make Romney look foolish but it still acts as a big distraction. Trump needs to take the high road on some of this stuff if he can.

I don't have a problem with it, but I can see where someone might. Imo it would be more chicken shit for a prominent voice to stay quiet and continue to watch like a doctor not helping at the scene of an accident.

At this point I don't think anybody will really care what he says though.

yep, but who said there was an accident!!

This would just be perfect for republicans. They still don't get the conservatives can't stand the job they have done. So they bring out a guy who couldn't beat one of the worst presidents of all time? Absolutely clueless. And I think Romney would have done a fine job, def better than Hillary Clinton but he is damaged goods.

My thought too. I think Romney would have been a good president, at least much better than what we currently have, but he lost and chose not to run again. He needs to move along now.

I think it's a bad move by Romney and a bad move by the Republican Party. In my opinion another misstep by the Republican Party that's going to lead to a Hillary presidency.

The repubs and Trump should get together and figure out a strategy for both to win...and keep the incompetence limited to the current in house rodent. Another 4 years of the lying pant suited fat ass old lady will not be a good thing for any of us makers.

Funny that Romney begged Trump for support in his election bid. Even praised Trump as a jobs creator and quite knowledgeable about the economy and financial markets.

Just shows more desperation from the establishment trying to save their influence and invitations to the Inside the Beltway parties.

The only way one can become head of the RNC is to kiss the rings/asses of the power brokers in DC and NYC.

preibus is a spokesperson he runs nothing. Those that guard the glass bead game are making these decisions and as the fire gets closer to their tower they are just frantically fanning the flames with their impotent flailing.

Now I get it. After catching up on the Fox News propaganda a little Romney is a hired ****ing gun. He isnt running ever, he is just going to roll around in the mud so rubio and Cruz can act presidential. Trump is apparently falling for it like that German bitch fell for the sheriffs b**** ***k in blazing saddles!!

Can I say that here?

The more the power guys fight to take Trump out the more I'm convinced they are scared s-less about losing their power.

I didn't vote Trump in the primary but my guy is out now so the more they yell fire the more I'm liking Trump.

There's one thing I know Trump is 100 times better than having a curupt, money hungry, criminal as President. He might just be worth it to watch the main stream of both parties heads explode.

Preibus has made the decisions on the debates and the structure of the primaries, for starters.

I'm in this camp as well. I started out hating Trump, but I seem to like him more and more every day. He's my #2 right now, but I'd have no issue at this point supporting him in the general.

Republicans deserve and need to lose this election. It will be good for them in the long run,

The high road didn't get him where he is. No choice but to muscle through. To me, Romney is embarrassing and makes me want to support Trump. The more pushback he gets from both sides, the stronger he gets with his F you establishment message. Right or wrong, it makes him more popular. Romney is a loser so who cares what he says? Dole? McCain? Nobody cares.

I'm fully convinced that this speech and talk of Romney running 3rd party are the workings of the Republican establishment. Romney is just a "yes man," nothing else. They would rather talk Romney into running 3rd party to guarantee a Clinton presidency because an establishment hack from the Democratic party is way better than no establishment hack at all.

That the Republican party establishment thinks this is a good idea and way forward as a party is mind blowing to me. In a sense the message to their constituents and supporters is "We, the establishment, do not like who you, the people, have selected to represent your vision of government. So we, the establishment, are going to ensure the candidate the people selected for representation cannot win." Americans like to believe we have a democracy and that we are represented by elected officials. The truth of the matter is that we have an oligarchy masquerading as a democracy with certain positions being carefully selected and placed under the illusion of being elected. The other positions are immediately bought and paid for as soon as the bird lands in DC. I think this will backfire not just on the Republican party but on the establishment as a whole. The Democratic party is headed down the same road, they just aren't as far along in the process as the Republicans. Interesting political times.

"It has been frequently remarked that it seems to have been reserved to the people of this country, by their conduct and example, to decide the important question, whether societies of men are really capable or not of establishing good government from reflection and choice, or whether they are forever destined to depend on their political constitutions on accident and force." ~Alexander Hamilton, Federalist #1, 1787

IF only the GOP had banned together this hard 8 and 4 years ago maybe we wouldn't have king Obama making all his BS laws by executive order. I would rather have Trump then that POS lying sell out America for a few buck Clinton. Also CUP is scared he you tell by the lack of pictures on this board....

In a sense? It seems obvious and specifically what you described. In fact I am having a hard time thinking of any other way to look at it. It's desperate and insulting. If it works, I hope the party implodes completely and is burned to the ground.

Yes he has. At the office doing paperwork. Listened to all of it. The man is a good speaker, but too little too late.
The thing is Trump threatened to run as a third party candidate if the R's didn't play fair. So instead of going after him they sat back thinking he'd say something stupid and lose support. Problem is every time he says something stupid he seems to come out stronger. I agree they misplayed their hands, but Trump did a hell of a job putting them in this position.

a tool protecting the status quo tools so an amiable tool can be elected.

Agree Mega and others, more they push, whine, cry and deceive the stronger he will get. People hate politicians in general and establishment pols even more. My guy is still in but I wouldn't hesitate to vote for The Trumpster. How could he do any worse than that miserable, anti-American, steaming pile of llama dung that's there now?
