Remember the iconic shellshocked Syrian boy photo?

I (and others) have challenged the accuracy of much of your information. When someone does this, you don't even acknowledge the posts. On multiple occasions, I have tagged you or reposted the refuting evidence and you continue to ignore the information. Not only do you refuse to respond, but you wait a while then re-post the same propaganda again.

Stop playing the victim. You know exactly what you have been doing and JD has been doing nothing but calling a spade a spade.

You often tell people to do their own research, but that is not what you really want, because it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Never have I seen you admit that what you posted was incorrect or apologize for not doing your own research before sharing it with the rest of us.

To his credit, on more than one occasion he has admitted the inaccuracy or lack of credibility of certain posts when I have addressed it.

On the debit side, he just later reposts it again.

"Meme warfare" is a quantity over quality tactic.

I'm not advocating he not be allowed to engage in such tactics. I'm just pointing that out. Particularly when he calls out or accuses others of mindlessly swallowing a narrative without critical reasoning or thought. I sincerely hope that someday he will exhibit some of this "independent thought" he keeps talking about.

Nobody wants to hear this, but the obvious lesson to this is that on the most basic analytical level, NZ's political ideology requires and cultivates deception. You don't see a liberal on this board deliberately passing along lies and then when caught, shrugging their shoulders and say, "Do your own research" as if that's a defense to deliberately deceiving someone.

He's the perfect representative of modern conservatism. Anti-intellectual, smear straw men with fictional "facts" to further his political/racial point, and when caught, double down and apparently expect normal people to just forget the dishonesty.

I love it. Here we have guys who supported for president a dimwit sicko who cannot bring to our country enough gay hating, women-hating, jew-hating, and Christian-hating islamists now throwing out the Nazi label. These same lefties can't figure out if the Russians used tractor beams or laser beams to hack the last presidential election and now they're calling people rubes and anti- intellectual.

Another big surprise.

I didn't support the dimwit sicko to whom you are referring.

I'm for reasonable, legal vetting by whatever standards Trump wants to put in place, but have pointed out he doesn't need an EO to do that.

I'm completely open to the possibility that the Russian investigation will lead to nothing. If I had my way, everybody would shut up about that until Mueller does his job and issues a report...come what may from that report.

There are things I agree with Trump on (immigration enforcement of present laws, deregulation, other things) and some I don't (attempts to influence the Russian investigation, the need for a physical wall across the entirety of the border), and some I'm indifferent to (Paris Accords).

That changes nothing about the fact that NZ's conduct is anti-intellectual and is nothing but the mindless parroting of a narrative without any critical analysis by him.

I've also NEVER thrown out the Nazi label and have mocked its use.

The terrorist father is still very strange to me. I remember seeing an interview, maybe as soon as the next day, of him appearing unconcerned with what his son had just did/his death (outwardly toward the public at least). No emotion at all. Now, people grieve and process things differently so walk a mile in a man's shoes, etc. Still, to go from giving an interview the day after your son did what he did and died, and then go to an HRC rally not too long after and was even showcased directly behind her. Like he was given preferential seating. It's all just very strange.

You are exceedingly full of shit. Pure, dumb rat shit.

It's posts like this that remind me exactly how much you are a joke.

I remember the Sys of old, reasonably grounded. But you've burned your capital since the election, despite my desires to continue taking you seriously.

@Been Jammin the fact you approve of that post is significantly disappointing. You're being led down a dead road at a time when "your" side of the aisle could most use level heads speaking up.

Not to mention, his daughter in law (who was a suspect, is now being charged, and was living with the Dad) somehow "went missing."

See quotes from Dad in article:

She's 'no longer here': The Orlando shooter reportedly gave his wife access to his bank account before the attack
  • Jun 17, 2016, 4:15 PM ET

The gunman who killed 49 people at a gay Orlando nightclub early on Sunday morning apparently prepared for his own death before the shooting.

Omar Mateen, 29, added his wife, 30-year-old Noor Salman, to his life-insurance policy and gave her access to his bank accounts, CNN reported on Friday, citing unidentified law-enforcement sources.

Now, Salman has left the area where the couple lived, according to the Sun Sentinel.

She's "no longer here," Omar Mateen's father, Seddique, told reporters outside of his Fort Pierce, Florida, home on Wednesday.

Salman was reportedly living with Mateen's father in Fort Pierce when her husband attacked the nightclub. Public records list her most recent address - presumably where she lived with Mateen after they married in 2013 - as a 15-minute drive from his father's home in Fort Pierce.

But Seddique told reporters that Salman was no longer in the area, either.

Liked it because I agreed with the first paragraph. Didn't pay much attention to the 2nd paragraph.

Do you disagree with the first paragraph? Do you think that NZ's posts are not heavy on deception? Can you point out a liberal who has a similar M.O. to him?

You are a bright guy. Not one of the posters who seem to be short on critical analysis. What are your thoughts on NZ's tactics?

I give his threads a fraction of the time I give others. I scan for the "assertion as fact," test it in my head, might read more but generally don't.

I believe there are nuggets of truth within most board posts. But so often truth subjective, it aligns itself with perspective. Offhand I don't recall ever defending one of his specific positions. Hell, half the time I don't know what the specific position is.

From a higher up level, I think he and people on the left like him serve to stir up those that aren't grounded in their own facts.

Time on this board has taught me to pick and choose my battles. Getting angsty over posts that are damn near 3 pages in length (for a single post) with four different citations isn't a battle that is worth my time. There's 0% chance of winning in a situation like that given the nature of observers and participants.

You remind me of defense lawyers that get more indignant and shrill as the evidence and questions get more troublesome. Without specifics its hard to really address your emotional post. I'll just let it go and hope you feel better now.

I think NZ is just lazy. He finds a few points in these meme's or articles that are relevant and actually decent, and posts without putting a lot of intellectual understanding or depth behind the whole message. Much like what you did in your 'like' of Sys's post.

The bigger concern I have though is the intellectual dishonesty in taking what are clearly fringe views and stating that these represent the basis of conservatism today (see Sys's 2nd paragraph). It'd be like me stating that Communism is the basis of the Democratic party because its got a few communist members.

Based on this response, it sounds like you don't pay much attention to NZ's posts. This doesn't seem to jibe with your attack on @syskatine , or calling me out for sharing our opinions on NZ.

Seems like maybe you have an ax to grind with sys and your post was more about him than it was the content of what he said. Something about it sure seemed to push your buttons.

You're shrinking away.

Here's why: deep, deep down you know your statements are indefensible and dumb.

Now buzz off, peewee, men are conversing.

Rich. Go back and read all his statement, then come back and defend all of it...since you "liked" all of it.

That would be the explanation that gives him the most benefit of the doubt. If your explanation is accurate, you would think he would start putting in more effort or discontinue the practice of posting the same meme's/articles repeatedly.

Much like what you did in your 'like' of Sys's post.

Are we going to get into this discussion again? Seems like I just read it a few months ago. "Liking" a post doesn't necessarily mean that one of us agrees with every word. Just like it was unfair to call @MegaPoke a Nazi for liking NZ's OP. "Liking" a post can occur for many reasons.

The bigger concern I have though is the intellectual dishonesty in taking what are clearly fringe views and stating that these represent the basis of conservatism today (see Sys's 2nd paragraph). It'd be like me stating that Communism is the basis of the Democratic party because its got a few communist members.

That's fair and reasonable. Probably what pushed Brad's buttons.

I think your fury and personal attacks are due to one simple dynamic: Nothing is more infuriating or unforgivable than being wrong. I get it, but at this point you should thank me for offering you the red, white and blue pill.

Jeezus....

-sometimes when I like posts, it means that I 100% agree
-sometimes I don't agree, but I think the post is clever or funny
-sometimes I agree with a portion of it.
-sometimes I like a post because it comes from someone who rarely posts and I want to encourage them to post more
-sometimes, I do it because I know it will piss off someone on the other side of the aisle and I am trolling.
-sometimes, I do it for other reasons.

I think that about covers it. Most likely it applies to everyone on this site.

Maybe you should be a smidge more careful about what you sign off on. It was a total of 2 paragraphs. The 2nd is destructive. You cosigned and now we've spent 30 minutes trying to determine if you are Sys level unhinged or not.

@CBradSmith Been and I don't agree on everything -- we probably disagree on more than we agree on. I'm sure he'd say the same thing. But if he and I are both sensing an inexplicable rage with you... maybe one of us has a point? I think he and I are both extending the hand of dialogue and friendship, but you're spiraling. Are you having any professional or personal issues that is coloring all this?

Considering the observation bias within you, and possibly him, I find your "thinking" highly amusing. Highly.

He's good, though, being he's a baby on the 24/7 timeline. You, however, have a prior track record.

Brad liked this. Ergo, Brad endorses fear mongering and alcoholism. And Roy Cohn.

Brad, do you know who else used Roy Cohn and had a very close friendship with him, maybe the closest he's ever actually had to a real "friend?"

What does this statement specifically mean to you, since you've repeated it twice now?
It means you never even bothered to state why you disagree with sys, you just said how mad it made you and how bad it made sys (and Been Jammin by extension) look.

I listed all the reasons I could think of that might possibly cause me to "like" a post. After careful consideration, I'm going to go ahead and keep the list intact.

No. Okay.

You've made it clear that you aren't signing off on Sys's second paragraph in the post I took issue with. I don't blame you.

That is the nature of my complaint/disappointment with regards to him. He tells others they should become "independent thinkers" and calls them out for not doing so while exhibiting absolutely no independent thought or analysis himself. I know I probably sound like a "Dad" when I say it, but I'm not mad at him...I'm disappointed that he's basically become a parody and just another puppet.

Wow. That was easy and look what it did. Poof, as they say.

That's not all the "evidence" about Jews you have been promoting....including an absolutely anti-semitic caricature that you didn't even evaluate critically enough to realize you were posting.

When it was pointed out, you exclaimed "yikes", removed it and went and got the EXACT SAME meme....without the shadow.

In addition, there is the "Jews control the U.S. media" narrative that he pushed. When it was disproven, he refused to respond.

Even the OP, in this thread, is lacking in anything other than innuendo and theory. And that is being generous.

And of course, there is his frequent copied post about Rabbi Yosef, which he claims is proof that all Jewish Israeli's think they are superior to Gentiles and that Gentiles should be slaves to Jews. I've shared more info on that topic also, with no response from NZ.
