Red meat for both sides pretty much constantly

Does Saturday Night Live count? John Stewart?

That is as close as I can think of, and I do not think they are even close. Jon Stewart maybe more so recently. You could probably carve out some Fox News personalities over the last few years, also. But I am telling you, nobody got a political message out like Limbaugh. It was ours, every day, with repeats at night. At one time or another, everyone that was behind a wheel listened to the guy.

How many wars did Rush Limbaugh end? Limbaugh was only influential in the eyes of those who feared him. He was entertainment, political entertainment, to the rest of the land. If you want an example of influential, you're going to have to let go of the Limbaugh boogeyman and look to factual history.

For the simple...

First, that was more than 40 years ago. Second, I think the draft changed public opinion more than anyone news source back in the 60s.

And you're wrong again. I also don't abide by your arbitrary timelines. Limbaugh is only a boogeyman to partisan hacks like you.

Serious question, do you have any factual knowledge of history?

Deflecting from exactly how unhinged he is...and the leftists he's defending.

A true mental case.

I rarely agree with you. But this time I'm on board. I can't think of anyone that has come close to Limbaugh in coalescing the right wing as much as he. But you must admit when he started he probably felt pretty lonely and isolated. He broadcast out of New York, the very center of the opposition. When he first started he probably lost as many arguments with callers as he won. Most people, the first time they heard him, thought he was a fruitcake. He used to tell people they had to listen for six weeks before they would begin to understand him. He won people over with his humor, making fun of the Left, not with angry diatribes. John Stewart may have replaced him in popular prestige, but he burned out. They were both a lot of fun to listen to.
