By some perspectives, we are ‘killing it’ in HS recruiting this year.
I have a theory that is perhaps unpopular… and admittedly, is a bit cynical.
Have the blue bloods shifted focus to experienced, low risk portal recruiting to a sufficient degree that successful non-bluebloods such as OSU are seeing more talent in their HS recruiting class?
For some time now many of us have expressed some concern about how our developmental approach can translate in the portal era.
What are everyone’s thoughts on this? Are our recruiters really stepping it up or is there less competition for these guys? Can we continue to invest in development if we can’t raise the NIL to retain?
I’m curious what those more informed than I think about the situation.
