I think they declined under Obama, and my guess is they only get worse under Trump. I believe there are some fringe groups that have been emboldened by his winning the election.

What say you all? In 2020, will race relations be improved, worse, or roughly the same?

As long as the left wants to continue to perpetuate the idea that Trump and all R's (including the minority R's) are racists and bigots it will be difficult to improve. Of course they don't want them to improve. Just like they don't want to end the war on poverty. They need this.

Guessing you're referring to right wingers here, right? You worried about some sort of right wing counter protest ?

Both sides. KKK, Neo-Nazis, people harassing Muslims, gays, etc... BLM, and other race-centric organizations becoming more militant, larger divide between middle-America and large urban centers on the coasts.

Yes, they got a lot worse under Obama and will get worse under Trump as BLM grows.

It needs to be harder for George Soros to fund them. They are nothing but a front for his destabilization agenda.

There are legitimate issues with police community relations that need to be addressed and resolved. I think that can happen but black lives matter does not really represent that.

It should be illegal for someone to be paid to cross a county line to participate in a riot. Hell, it should be illegal to pay anyone to start or participate in a riot. The person paying should spend 2x the time in jail than the actor does.

Can you send me the examples of harassment?

It's funny that I live in redneck Oklahoma with a bunch of rubes, and I've never met anyone in the KKK or any neo-nazis.

Yeah, maybe some of those are true, maybe not. I wouldn't say that website is objective as you pointed out.

I really think you would be surprised.

Not that this is an indicator, but there's a house from us about a mile over, has typical white pipe fence you see at many farms out here with horses; gate has got Ichthys on both sides of the front gate.

Drove by there one Sat night there must have been 20 cars in drive and front yard. Dixie flag was draped over both sides of the closed gate.

Go on. I know there's more to the story. There is more to the story, correct?

I remember the worry when Obama was elected about some right wing loon sniping him or taking him out in some other way.

I remember the worry about Muslims in the military being harassed after the war on terror broke out.

Not saying the individual nut job won't crop up on occasion, but I'm not worried nearly as much about the right wing militancy as I am the left. Plenty of recent examples of left wing violence to examine and worry about instead.

Hey liberal dumbasses, nobody believes you anymore. The rest of us upright walking humans wirh spines don't live in your safe eunuch centered echo chamber.

If Trump addresses the issues facing inner cities, as he claimed he would, then race relations should absolutely improve in time.

An infusion of money to inner city and other minimally funded schools for modernizing is one of the first places to explore.

If you think racism and sexism is bad in the US, travel the world.

A totally agree in regards to sexism.....but slightly disagree with the racism angle. The non-stop, never ending, daily obsession with skin colour here in the media, with celebrities, on facebook, on message boards (including this message board) is absolutely nauseating. I've never seen a citizenry so captivated over skin tone. Amazing.

In every place I've ever lived, it's been about nationality, rarely skin color. I guess it's racism all the same but here it's over the top. Fascinating to observe though.

From what I've read about European history, this is a relatively new thing there (but always here in the States) as well. Your heritage/religion/nationality (as you said) was what defined you on the surface. Black/White didn't really come into play until the beginning of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. And even in a post-slavery America it still rears its ugly head constantly for several reasons.

Mostly in attempts to sway low information voters to elect Democrats.

I was told I was a low educated white guy. So I will stick to 10 cent words to say I think that is so not true.

You think they "declined under Obama"? How about dropped off a 1000 ft cliff? How about he completely destroyed racial progress?
