Sometime back, several asked when is the latest snow you've seen in Montana in a thread.

I mentioned being snowed on in Yellowstone in late June. Here is an example of what is forecast for early next week along the Rocky Mountain front in western Montana including Glacier National Park. There are advisories like this one from West Yellowstone to the Canadian border. Thought you might like to know this if planning an early summer visit in the future.

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
TUESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations 2 to 5
inches at Marias Pass, while 6 to 14 inches above 6000 feet in
Glacier National Park is possible.

* WHERE...Bad Rock Canyon, Highway 83 Bigfork to Swan Lake, Marias
Pass, Polebridge, and Essex.

* WHEN...From Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
possible in the backcountry. Snow on trees could cause breaking
branches and power outages.
