Or anyone else that might know. If a person has minor symptoms of Omicron (stuffy head, headache), which are also symptoms of a head cold, and takes a cold medicine, say something like DayQuil, and two hours later the stuffiness and headache are gone, is that positive proof that he had a head cold and not Omicron?

No. It's been my experience that covid positive folks with minor symptoms respond to the usual symptom treatments that are used for the common cold, flu, strep, etc.
