On January 9th, 2025, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt signed an executive order that allows Oklahoma State to pay collectives directly until revenue sharing begins (July 1). The order, coupled with recent IRS rulings on tax deductibility of gifts to collectives, leads us to advise donors to make contributions directly to the OSU POSSE Excellence Fund in support of OSU Athletics or specific sports programs if you wish to receive a charitable deduction. Starting immediately, Pokes With A Purpose will not issue tax receipts for gifts made by individuals after January 1, 2025.
Pokes With A Purpose will continue to honor agreements with student-athletes through June 30, 2025. PWAP will begin transitioning its efforts to a marketing role and will primarily focus on assisting student-athletes in non-revenue sports.
