Free press does not equate to an honest press! Fact is the press is overwhelming dominated by pinko left-wing communist bed setters, who donate to liberals/dems and support liberal causes. The "free press" is actually worse than the "manipulated" press Putin deals with, since ideologically they are probably more aligned with what Putin stands for than the press he manipulates.

I don't mean this as a defense of Donald Trump because I abhor the guy, but I will say his talking to Comey about arresting journalists that publish classified information (if it really happened) is hardly unique to him. Look st the scramble from politicians of every persuasion to arrest and imprison Julian Assange and Eric Snowden. Glen Greenwald had to go into hiding in South America for awhile after publishing Snowden's information.

Ouch, nice comeback Been. No thanks, actually I've lived and worked in a number of spots in the world and nothing beats the USA. Good to see you missed the whole point though, not surprising by any stretch.

I'll try one more time...a "free press" with a plethora of axes to grind and a built in bias, is far more dangerous than a press who most everyone understands is a propaganda arm of a dictator. Had Bush (or Trump) said anything about visiting all 57 states, corpse men or Austrian speak Austrian, they would have been excoriated.....well the ex-rodent in huge though, they are all still lining up at the glory hole for him.

Protecting someone, in a free society, because they line up idiologically with your group think, is far more egregious and dangerous than puppets spouting dictatorial lines because your whole family might end up dead.

I have no problems with Trump, Bush or Peter Pan getting lambasted, if they deserve it, and kicked out of office if they did something criminally. What I do have a problem with is people masquerading under the banner of "free press" chasing every innuendo, leak and rumor that they blew off previously because it's fits their world view/wish.

I understood your point. I agree with it to a degree. The MSM clearly leans left and clearly pushes their narrative. That is a problem.

However, it is my belief that when push comes to shove, they will do their job. There will be occasions where they can't put lipstick on a pig and will have to report liberal screw ups.

I would not have that confidence if the media was made up of "puppets spouting dictatorial lines because your whole family might end up dead."
