I've reached my limit on the stupid things embedded in posts as if they actually added something to the conversation. If you can't make a point in your own words, take it some place else.

What if it's for humor? For example, what if I inserted a meme in response to your post that said "Ha! Gayyyyyyyyyyyyy!"

The host of the board specifically creates a way to post media, and then we're told don't post media.
The posting of other media, memes, opinions may not be your personal viewing preference, but it's core speech. I disagree with about 90% of them, and I'm the only lib that really posts much of that stuff, but I see a thumbnail version of right wing media on these boards all the time and wouldn't see it otherwise.
You should consider not exercising the power you have just because of your own personal preference. If the pictures are causing some technical problem I get it, but because you've "reached my limit on the stupid things embedded in posts."
The board exist for YOU to exchange YOUR opinions. If all you have to add are tweets from others (the same tweet over and over, I might add); you're really not participating anyway.
Perhaps if NZ's spam/discourse ratio were slightly lower than infinity to nil, we might not have reached this point. As with many mostly good things in society, it just takes 1 asshole to fvck it up for the rest of us.
Media repeats aren't that frequent. To the extent they are, the board kind of self-polices. (One poster in particular enthusiastically polices that stuff). Repeats of opinions happen constantly from every frequent poster and take up more room than a tweet. I for one appreciate the media cites that enable me to see what other people with differing opinions are saying. I cant' believe you don't intuitively embrace that. There are many opinions in the big ol' world that make their way on here via tweet or link and generate a ton of comment.
The board also self-policed memes constantly being posted and the board now voluntarily confines most of that stuff to the meme thread. If Frank slips one in another thread, then we all know he's damned straight serious about it. The biggest kick I've gotten from this board were memes from posters with whom I disagree with about virtually everything. Including their memes.
It's not only about opinions, or the board wouldn't enable people to post outside links, tweets (which are specifically included in writing as something to be posted) and articles. Exchanging ideas and political perspectives is core speech. MY opinions may be perfectly expressed by a well crafted tweet. YOUR opinions may be, too. Facts are also communicated via tweet link. It's my decision whether to read or click the tweet, not yours. I PAY to hear and see other viewpoints, and not necessarily fellow freakin' Okie aggies all the time -- I get those all day without subscribing to anything.
Every poster has the ability to ignore another poster. You're making the decision for me? NZ should be allowed to post whatever he wants. If he shows his ass, then fine. He does often. Some will say I do. But you're simply interjecting your personal viewing preference.
TO BOARD CONSERVATIVES: 1. Well well well.... look at the conservative authoritarian mod. Who'd have thought? You don't see libs calling to censor anybody. 2. Nice business model. Was there some movement to censor tweets, or did the mod sua sponte come up with that?
He may be a repetitive asshole, but he's been called on it and to his credit doesn't do it as much as he used to after JD hounded him for it. One isolated incident yesterday shouldn't trigger anything -- the dude had a pretty tough weekend with the attempted bombing, murder in VA, etc and he threw out what he thinks is his best stuff. Someone mounted me up a while back for responding with cute memes to substantive posts and I slowed it down -- they were sort of right. (Sort of.) That and I personally love his styx posts. Marketplace of ideas, etc.

I don't know specifically what spurred this but I've never seen a single post that I thought needed to be deleted or called out. This whole board was put in exile by Jeff j because everyone who comes here is a masochist who enjoys the smell of other people's farts.
Sounds like fisting. We openly joke about fisting women but can't tweet. How about we meet halfway and only tweet about fisting women?
For what it's worth, I don't like this rule given the relatively low traffic on this board. The more tweets, pics, etc. the better. Since it isn't pinned to the top anymore, is this fascist rule still in effect?
This is bullshit...I liked a sys post in this thread. That has to mean the OP is doing it wrong.
There's no new rule. I just wanted to see who said what, what fake outrage came forth, and whether people said the same things about free speech-centric discussion when it involved their participation rather than a political adversary.
I just scroll past the NZ posts these days. It has become a reflex.
