The majority, if not all, of these statues of Confederate generals and other notable people or names of schools and in this case a city were erected or named during the days when democrats controlled the towns, cities, counties and states across the South. It's liberals and democrats who are demanding their removal or name changes. It reasonable to say that it's these current day liberal democrats who are whitewashing the history of their party's members who erected or named them.
