Can you envision a scenario in which a scared child who confides in and comes out as gay/lesbian/bi/trans/etc. to their educator/counselor doesn’t want their parents to know for fear of reprisal?

Are these ‘bad parents’? If that’s the case, it would sure seem you proclaiming the VaSt MajOriTy of parents good to be total bullsh!t, wouldn’t it? Considering how significant this issue is, it’s clear many parents would rather drop their LGBT child at the curb than support them.

We see a lot of these GoOd PaReNts amongst the ChRiStiAns, what with your astonishingly effective remedies such as……conversion therapy…

Goodness. You watch too much tv/news. Get out in the world. Get a job, start a family, hang out with other families. Go to soccer, football, basketball games. Join the pta. I think you’ll find your assessment that the vast majority of parents would drop their lgbtq kid at the curb is wrong. Get out there and experience it rather than taking some news outlets view on things.

Then the system needs to be improved in those areas. Keeping secrets from everyday normal parents is not the answer. Your method is rooted in a belief that normal parents will abuse their children by default. Given the abnormality of your family history, you are hardly qualified to tell normal people what to do.

What does this have to do with hiding a kid’s disorder from his/her parents? Should eating disorders be hidden? Bipolarism? ADHD? Self mutilation? What about heterosexual activity?
