Jordan Williams looked great in majoring the #5 guy in the country. Won the PAC championship.
Jordan just upset #5 Ethan Stiles 15-5 to win the Pac 12 title!! Dude was on a mission today.
He really didn’t do anything “unexpected or crazy” is how I would say. It was a good scrap too. Thought little had a chance after the first but AJ rode hard and then Little kinda looked like he got concussed but they cleared him. Had a bad swelling over his right eye too. Clearly affected him the rest of the way.

I wonder if Little wouldn't have had to take injury time in the second that maybe AJ gasses a little in the third and that changes things. AJ was breathing hard after the first period. Will be interesting to see AJ wrestle twice on Friday at nationals against good opponents.

There should be rules, I personally feel that if you on your knees or in a three-point stance, you should be getting hit for stalling because its hard for me to get under him. What am I going to do? Jump over you and do a flying squirrel ?"

This is interesting. Indicates to me that it might be hard for Cael to explain to his AD why he thinks he does not need to go collect a big pay day in Tulsa at National Duals next year.
I think it paints a pretty scary picture for the sport as we move into the revenue sharing era. Even big 10 teams who have large revenue from their conference may look at where they can save.

PSU handily will win, and Nebraska should finish second. Seeding for NCAA at 141 and 125 will be highly debated with upsets in conference tournaments.
The only real surprise for PSU was Van Ness. He should have easily won that SF. Bartlett always lives for the last 30 seconds. Sometimes you die that way too. Barr - Cardenas is a coin flip bout. Nothing weird there.

We need to take graphs like this with a healthy grain of salt. Wrestling programs receive NONE of the Big Ten Network revenue pie. Another thing is the internal shell game universities play. PSU wrestling pays a high price to "rent" out the Bryce Jordan Center. That is an expense for wrestling but the university probably saw an overall profit from the event.
Do universities lose money on wrestling? You bet. Is it really a negative $12M overall in the Big Ten? No. Some of the loss is accounting to a degree.
I appreciate the insight, and it makes sense. Even with that, it seems like the days of top programs having the luxury of football money insulating them from poor financial decisions are coming to an end. No more snooze-fest duals that people don't care to watch. No more ducking competitive matchups to preserve seeding.
PSU may be playing that game, but not the best example to choose from when talking about potential losses as a whole for NCAA wrestling. Even if PSU is basically breaking even, what does that mean for every other school?
The National Duals and associated sponsorship could end up being pretty important for a lot of schools, hopefully on a bigger scale if it works out.
Tom Ryan had Paddy Gallagher med forfeit to Mesenbrink yesterday and then wrestled his next bout and won. Lost in consi quarters and is now wrestling for 7th. I guess he had a miracle recovery. So win, med forfeit, win, loss, tbd
