In total, 15 of the University’s black players listed on the school’s official roster attended the White House visit, the vast majority of whom (11) were freshmen or sophomores who had very little playing time during the season. Just one senior made the trip and only six of the players in attendance were even listed on Clemson’s national championship depth chart. There are at least 57 black student-athletes on Clemson’s official team roster, which means 74 percent of Clemson’s African-American players chose not to make the trip to the White House.

Could one of our MAGA supporters please remind us how Biff's 4D chess with this racial stuff is just over the libs heads? 'Cuz I gotta say... not really seeing it right now.

15 of 57 players attended? Isn’t that percentage higher than blacks normally vote for a Republican? I’m not understanding what it is you feel the need to gloat about.

Football players are generally thought of as very intelligent and experts on policy matters. More people should align their views to football players, especially those that are still in college.

That's one of the reasons the thread isn't entitled "very intelligent experts on policy matters didn't get the memo."

Wow. Yeah. Did you read the article? And why would you overlay the participation % of voting in a general election with an expense-paid trip to the White House?

I'm not understanding why you cherry pick and spin the information provided and then express bewilderment when you can't understand the thread.

I think a better article would be about how the players who attended are racist.

Either way it’s not clear why you would post. I really don’t give a **** what college kids think.

It's probably because of my intellectual deficiency. I compared the two because it seemed you were implying that because most black players didn't go to the White House that was evidence that blacks as a group are staying on the plantation. Perhaps I misread your intent in posting the article as joy that your team is hanging onto a reliable voting block.

The first step is admitting it. Good job Dan. Here is a cookie.

Chocolate chip! My favorite! Regrettably my wife has put me on a diet. No sugar for me if I imbibe in sugar (know what I mean?).

Because he’s:

Gotta say, this "between jobs" JD is more entertaining than the "between meetings" JD.

Yeah as a matter of fact "on the plantation" is EXACTLY what I'm gloating about. It's amazing you guys keep that racist narrative up. They're so dumb and ignorant they willingly expose themselves to exploitation... if they'd only trust conservatives? Biff? GOP? Corporations? Then you wonder why they stay "on the plantation" in the face of that talking point. I can't ask for a more pristine example of thick white disconnect.

My disconnect may very well be thick and white, but it is NOT conservative or GOP or corporation - and most certainly not Biff! I ask that you retract your insult immediately!

Okay -- "you" is retracted. So who should these young men trust politically then?

They're playing football and going to school Dan, not running government.
Forgive me for lack of clarity. They should trust their own opinion as to who would best run the government. Listen to all opinions, express some of their own in civil discussion, and come to independent conclusions. Too many people look at politics/government like a football game: pick a team to root for (or play for) and support that team no matter what, no matter what damage it does to them, just do what the coach tells them to do, no questions asked,. They should trust themselves. Politics ain't football!

What about encouraging young black men to consume everything they can from Malcolm X? (IE his read his books and listen to his speeches, interviews etc)

In your many posts about race, racism and race relations, I’ve never seen you mention Malcolm.

That's because I don't post about race all that much.

I like Malcolm and think he had some great points. You're plainly presenting a false choice though. Sounds like you also assume these young black men aren't fully versed on Malcolm X or other black thought leaders. I read his autobiography before I was out of college -- I'll bet they're familiar with him.

“Blacks” aren’t a monolith, racist.
