I'm not sure staying in Afgan will be considered a strong neo con policy. That may be a stretch. It could play out that way but I'm not seeing that right now. Too many distractions for people to see through right now anyway.I understand what you are saying, I don't know if I agree or not though. If either wanted to keep the promise, they could have.
True. However, if Trump starts pursuing a strong neocon foreign policy, you think most of his supporters will be happy about this?

It's not a significant change to the status quo. As long as the conflict intensity doesn't go up there is no difference. Most likely additional troops will remain on post for most of the time and casualty increases will be negligible. It has the look of Trump throwing the neo cons scraps from the table and nothing more. Why do you believe it will not be considered a strong neocon policy?

The terrorists mentioned in the article were not ones kept at Gitmo. For instance, Moussaoui was never held in Gitmo...he was arrested in Minnesota. The Boston bomber was from...Boston. The shoe bomber was nabbed in Detroit when his international flight landed.Closing "Gitmo" did not in any way mean that those held there would be released. Most of them would have been transferred to super max facilities within US territory.
