125 Nick Piccininni vs. Skyler Petry Petry is a Sophomore with an 11-15 record in 2016 and 4-9 in duals. He was 0-5 in big 10 tournament.
133 Kaid Brock vs. Mitch McKee McKee is a true freshman with an outstanding HS career, 3Xstate champ 4X Greco champion.
141 Dean Heil vs. Gannon Volk who is a Soph with 8-4 record last year
149 Anthony Collica vs. James Berg RS fr. 2-2 record placed 2nd and 3rd in state tournament and was a FS & Greco AA
157 Joe Smith or Jonce Blaylock vs. Jake Short JR. NCAA qual. 2016 16-11 rcd and placed 7th in Big 10
165 Chandler Rogers vs. Brandon Kingsley Sr. 20-13 last year leads team with 23 career falls
174 Kyle Crutchmer vs. Nick Wanzek Junior 20-13 last yr and NCAA qualifier
184 Nolan Boyd vs. Bobby Steveson RS/Fr. 14-4 last year in open tournaments. Highest ranked wrestler in his weight in HS 3X HS state champ.
197 Preston Weigel vs. Brett Pfarr Sr. 3rd place in NCAA in 2016 with a 40-4 record
285 Austin Schafer vs. Michael Kroells Sr. 2 X AA 25-9 record in 2016.

We would be favored in the first 8 weights but possibility of an upset at 133. I do not think it will happen but McKee despite losing last week badly to Seth Gross is a good wrestler. Minnesota would be favored at both 197 and 285. My upset special is Schafer over Kroells who is a 2X AA.
I predict we win 9 of 10 weights.

McKee kinda had Brock's number in HS but a lot can change in two years.

Stroker should be back in the lineup.

They had a little rivalry going, I think most were FS, I remember one at junior duals that Brock was up 10-3, then he gave up a TD and went straight into a trapped arm, in the last 20 seconds it went from 10-3 to like 15-10.

I searched the Minnesota wrestling site and found no instance where Stroker has wrestled this year, not in open tournaments or in duals. They are struggling at 157 without him and an obvious fill in for him would be Larry Early but he is one of the four suspended wrestlers due to the drug problems at Minnesota. Tommy Thorn is also one of those suspended until second semester although he is wrestling in open tournaments. I can only conclude Stroker is either injured or having problems with weight. He is not one of those suspended. The 0-5 Big 10 tournament record is directly from the Minnesota wrestling site. I do know that Kingsley was a Big 12 qualifier and finished I believe 7th so I assume 0-5 is possible at the Big 10 but I am not a statistician. I too, remember Brock's struggles with McKee in High school but hopefully experience and work in our room will work for him. Seth Gross of South Dakota State trounced him in their dual. This does mean to me that McKee lost all of his skills but rather is just struggling a little as a true frosh.

McKee is very tough. I would call that a toss-up match at 133 and I think Kaid is in contention to win it all.

TF, that was funny!

Petry did not wrestle in the Big 10 tournament last year (MN had Polakowski at 125), but he was 0-5 in Big 10 duals.

Stroker was 4th at Daktronics (Berg DNP) and 4th in his bracket at Journeymen at 149 both times. He hasn't been great, but I'd assume he still has a good chance to win the spot. Not sure why he didn't go against SDSU.

i too think 133 is a toss up. i watched there last freestyle mach and mckee had his share of takedowns. from recent results i think mckee has not adapted to the hour weight cut. his first match with gross was a lot closer; which i believe was at a tournament and his second match was a blow out by gross; which was a dual.

Stroker is the guy at 149.

McKee resorted to poor shots trying to battle his way back into the match. If he was content losing by 4 or 5 points he probably could have done that against Gross.

OkieSpladle, thanks for the above. I did go to those two tournaments and I guess I was assuming he would be in the championship match and he was not. I did not check the entries in their entirety but read news stories put out by Minnesota on the results and they did mention him to my knowledge.

Just to correct my earlier posts I was able to find results on the Journeyman and Stroker was 1-2 and placed 4th in his pool. He had three close matches as he dec. Ty Buckison from the Citadel 2-1 and lost to Josh Maruca of AZ St. 2-1 and lost to Colt Cotton of Bulffalo in sv 3-1. While perusing the results I see that Skyler Petry lost to Christian Moody of OU 4-2 and was pinned by Darian Cruz of Lehigh. He had a MD over Patrick Kearney 10-2 of The Citadel. I do not believe that if Stroker wrestles Sunday it will not affect my prediction of 9 wins. As with all predictions including mine it would be odd indeed if the matches went just as I predict.:)

If you have B10 network on your cable you can login to Big 10 plus with your login and psw.

I don't think so, I think the Big10+ is a paid subscription. From what I can tell you can get the whole conference for $14.95 a month or a single school for $9.95 a month.

I signed in with my BTN2Go acct and there is a $ to the Big10+.

You can get big10 to go for free through a provider. The big10 plus is with a subscription only. The match tomorrow is through big10 plus. At least that's what I found out while trying to get setup for the match tomorrow. We had trouble signing up using Internet Explorer, but it did work with Google Chrome.

BTN2GO comes free with cable/satellite packages that have BTN. It gives you access to events that are broadcast on BTN (tv) without an additional charge if you have the tv package.

Events that are not brodcast on BTN (tv) are labled under BTN Plus and require a separate subscription (9.95/mo single school or 14.95/mo entire conference) that is paid for and accessed on BTN2GO. OSU vs Gophers requires that separate BTN Plus subscription.

From BTN2GO website about BTN PLUS:
  • WHAT IS BTN PLUS?
BTN Plus programming includes non-televised games and events available on BTN2Go with a purchase of a BTN Plus subscription. BTN Plus content features live games produced by students at Big Ten universities. A subscription to BTN Plus on BTN2Go does NOT require a Big Ten Network TV subscription with a TV provider.

  • WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH BTN PLUS?
Games and events included in your BTN Plus subscription are non-televised games and events. To check if a game is included with your BTN Plus subscription, look for the "BTN Plus" designation next to the game or event you want to watch. A BTN Plus Subscription does not include access to other televised (BTN/ESPN/CBS/etc.) content on BTN2Go.

Ugh, this means I will be listening to Rex on my car radio. Two things I do not like to do.

Is there an Internet audio broadcast? What station is the Rex audio, might be able to get thru an app. I hate BTN & the +, refuse to pay twice.

93.7 for Rex Holt. I find that here in Shawnee if I cock my FM radio at a certain angle I can pick it up indoors but if that fails I can pick it up on my car radio. I agree I will not pay $9.95 to watch it.

1 p.m.;;Oklahoma State at Minnesota;;KSPI-FM 93.7/AM 730
Since I have not known what I was talking about with access I hesitate to correct anyone. I only mention in trying to set up "free" access" which I could not they are showing that the match time on B10 plus is 2pm. I know our schedule says 1 pm. Does anyone know the correct time for certain?

BTN probably lists everything in EST.

The above was from newsok.com, this is from the writeup on okstate.com:
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State wrestling team heads back on the road this weekend when it travels to Minneapolis, Minn., to take on No. 16 Minnesota at the Minnesota Sports Pavilion Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT.

well i am computer illiterate enough to not be able to turn off whatever ad blocker is preventing the sound from coming thru on okstate.com and i also refuse to support b10 twice so any updates on here would be appreciated....happy hollidays to all my osu brethren also
