This is just horrible.......having lived in England for many years and seen these types of historical buildings, it just makes you want cry........My two oldest kids had their HS graduation at Ely Cathedral near Cambridge, it is a 12th century Cathedral and as you can imagine...spectacular! and I have been to Salisbury Cathedral in Southern England, you just get goose bumps walking on to them. We lived in a small Village called Elmswell ( about 20 miles east of Cambridge) and became members of the Church of England, and the church in our small village was built in the 1400s, it was incredible .........They will rebuild Notre Dame, and it will again be spectacular, and in 500 or so years , people will read about the great fire of 2019 and hopefully appreciate the great job our generation did of restoring it

They will not only read about it, they will see it digitally or in some other form, the technology exists to keep a video record.
