Former Ohio State wrestler Kyle Snyder arrested during prostitution sting in Columbus
Police said Snyder was one of 17 men during the operation on May 9.

I'm sure they all do, but that doesn't mean they'll use it to cut ties for this. I'm with 85 and Glory, this is a personal/family issue to me, not a wrestling issue. Unless there are worse details that haven't come out yet, I still hope he's our 97kg rep this year.I wonder if his NLWC or other endorsement contracts include any morality clauses?

I believe all those contracts have morality clauses these days. I think he will remain with the NLWC through at least the Final X (6/14) and maybe even Worlds. Then they part ways. He will be 30 this year. Not sure he would have been given another contract beyond this year anyway.I wonder if his NLWC or other endorsement contracts include any morality clauses?
His wife owns him at this point. Whether he wrestles again will be her decision. It's definitely a wrestling issue. Just unprecedented. Does USA wrestling suspend him, does NLWC oust him, is he persona non grata, are the charges lessened?
Completely uncharted waters. Does he forfeit out of Final X?
and yeah, the family aspect is devastating for his wife and kids. I have a pretty firm stance on cheating - marriage ender for me. But I guess we'll see what his wife says.

His endorsements are probably dead though.
I do not care one iota what this guy does in his personal life-thats between him, his family and his God. If he was Joe Brown no one would blink an eye over a misdemeanor that shouldn't even bee a misdemeanor. I get that its a story because of his name, but really, its small potatoes. Other guys (including olympic reps for us) have done much worse.
With great power comes great responsibility. Like it or not he’s a public figure who a lot of kids look up to. If you’re getting paid to attend/run wrestling camps and speak at FCA events in front of aforementioned kids then paying a stranger to help you cheat on the mother of your children is gonna get people on your case.I do not care one iota what this guy does in his personal life-thats between him, his family and his God. I assume it’s in reference to Gable’s allegations a few years back?
It’s a fair thought. I sure wish he would release a statement. A guy that’s super vocal about his stances of positive should also be super vocal outside of failure of those stances.NLWC talking points have been distributed. A lot of “judge not lest thou be judged”. Which I guess are fair, but judging is just too damn fun.
Busted the Friday before Mother’s Day. Probably too busy trying to buy the perfect make-up gift to think about a statementIt’s a fair thought. I sure wish he would release a statement. Protect Wrestling, if possible but make movement to get past it.
Thinking isn’t his strong suit in this discussion.Busted the Friday before Mother’s Day. Probably too busy trying to buy the perfect make-up gift to think about a statement
I mean the dude is alleged to have committed a pretty serious crime. I don't think Kyle should be hung and his career should be over. He can come back from this. That being said, I'm not sure why the wrestling community needs to have his back. Especially until we get more details and we hear something from Kyle.At least he was paying for it instead of trying to take it like others have. And those "others" are still around.
The guy messed up. Does it merit the entire wrestling community/clubs turning their back on him? HELL NO! I am sure that this will be a hard lesson learned, and 100% his own fault, but I am sure he will have learned from it. He can definitely come back from this. And quite honestly, I hope that he does.
I’m pretty sure it’s a misdemeanor at this point. But yeah, the tie to human trafficking is problematic for sure.I mean the dude is alleged to have committed a pretty serious crime. One person mentioned it as a possibility. Not exactly a mob forming with gunpowder. Not sure where you guys are linking this to human trafficking, but the state did a typical hooker sting and he got caught. I know rumors out there are connecting those more serious dots but the police aren't so why not put our torches down and not light any gunpowder needlessly.
One person? One person without any proof got you to write about it on a public forum? I guess I have different standards of proof for when I start posting about someone potentially being connected to human trafficking. One person mentioned it as a possibility. Again, my ability to convey through type misses the mark. One person? One person without any proof got you to write about it on a public forum? I guess I have different standards of proof for when I start posting about someone potentially being connected to human trafficking.

Kyle Snyder, 29, was one of 16 men charged during a Friday, May 9 undercover operation on Columbus' North Side, Columbus police Sgt. Joe Albert said. The operation involved Columbus police posting ads for escort services on the internet.
Snyder called and texted police in response to one of the ads at 8:15 p.m., agreeing to meet at a nearby hotel, Albert said.
Snyder paid an undercover officer cash and asked for oral sex, Albert said. He was arrested for engaging in prostitution and released from the scene.
No human trafficking.
Why are you so defensive about your guy getting arrested? Your post made it sound like everyone here had "torches" and "gunpowder" ready for Kyle. I hope Kyle can survive the pain and anguish of one person on 34 and counting mentioning human trafficking. My guess is he has bigger concerns at the moment. One person?
