It is right and proper to compare the two. Both are equally stupid means of getting attention. Both broke into the capital. Colbert's crew even debased republican congressional offices; sound familiar. They were even trying to track down specific congressional republican representatives. They were even let in by a democrat congressional representative. Both sides wore ridiculous costumes to try and justify their actions. Now here is the comparison that most will miss. This doesn't make Colbert's crew insurrectionists, it makes the people on Jan 6 protestors.
