Wray has already stated that he is leaving before Trump takes office.
Wray's firing should be the first act of the new president. Literally. The instant his hand is removed from the Bible at his inauguration, Trump should tell Wray to pack his bags and get out.
If he does, Biden will just name an interim Director.
It serves Trump no purpose to even mention FBI director. We can wait a few more weeks to find out who it is. What counts is Trump gets who he wants.
Trump can do whatever he wants. This flood of Executive Branch draft picks is overwhelming the Dem spin machine.
Again, hiring and firing process for FBI Director is different than other cabinet positions. Thats why Trump hasn't named one, and likely will not till he fires the existing one.
If you want to get excited over random Twitter accounts saying otherwise, knock yourself out.
I think people are getting excited over the possibility and the amount of smoke surrounding him being the pick.
We've had big picks every day and everyone will want one for today and FBI director is about the biggest pick left on the board, so I get the excitement. I just don't think Trump will announce his pick prior to Jan 20th cause unlike the other cabinet picks, he would have to fire Wray. I suspect Wray will quit on Jan 19th, then Trump names his pick the next day.
And I honestly don't think it will be Kash. Jon Solomon is reporting Mike Rogers is now a candidate.
Of all the people in the Trump orbit that have appeared at his rallies, there are two people who have not that I can remember: Kash and Flynn. I think Trump will stay away from Kash for a major post.
I also think he will save something big for Devin Nunes, and FBI Director seems a logical landing spot. If that happened, I would be good with Nunes as FBI Director and Kash as Deputy Director.
Kash is trending hard enough CNN put out a panic statement about how dangerous he'd be.
We will find out when the time is right.
Nunes would be great.
I'm not sure about Mike Rogers.
