Since OU has stunk it up for the last decade I feel like we need a new rival. I'm kind of feeling UNI, lol. As much as I respect Schwab as a coach, his fastball brick throws and yelling at Coach Smith antics were kinda lame in Stillwater the last couple of trips. And they beat us, so I dont like that. Obviously, Missou is in the mix as well. So what say you - who should be the team we love to hate when they wrestle us?

Missouri and Iowa State have beaten us recently. So they’re up there. The Big 12 pecking order will be a fun one this year.

Hard to dislike UNI, antics aside Schwab is a good dude and hard to hate. I'd go with the cyclones. Imagine Carroll and Merrill going at it the next few years, should make for some good times especially if Perry is in the corner!
I agree. I’ve been going to the big 12 tournament the last few years and the ISU fans always act like complete jacka$$es

Not if they bump everyone down and insert Chittum by pulling his shirt. Granted they won’t be at weight until January but the below is a salty lineup:

Terukina
Frost
Echemedia
Paniro
Chittum
Gaitan/Euton
Naak or Riggins
Bockman
Carroll
Batista
Agree that would be a good line up. Chittum has to sit for 4-5 more weeks before he can train because of his concussion issues. Ech already turned down extra NIL $ to go 141 so Casey took the $ and cut down. Maybe they will offer Ech more $ now

I heard the same but also know at the end of the day the coach decides what weight they will wrestle if they want to see the lineup. In other words, if Paniro agrees to drop and beats Echemedia then, he is goes down or he sits and Frost takes the spot. I also heard Chittum can go tomorrow if needed but they are playing it safe. Either way, I don’t think they can make the drop in time for the Iowa dual.
He saw a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh recently and was told take 5-6 weeks off. Dresser talked about it in an interview recently. Also Paniro can't beat Ech that's why he's at 157

I’ve had beers with Cyclone fans and have been to Ames a few times over the years. I’ve always found them to be good fans. My vote is for those jackwagons from Columbia, MO. They were the cellar dwellers for years and once they had a modicum of success they start acting like Hawkeye fans. I’ve never had a beer with a Tiger!

This makes me laugh. I had a few beers with some ISU guys at big 12's a couple years ago and they said the same thing about us🤣
Heh I almost got into it with an ISU fan one time. It was when Surber was wrestling heavy and he beat their guy. I think his name was Schuyler? Anyway there was a couple fans in front of us who started to walk up the stairs to leave and one of them turned around and flipped the bird towards Surber.

As the two were walking by I flashed up the OSU finger guns at them lol. Needless to say they were not impressed.

You can take the fan out of Iowa, but you can’t take the Iowa out of the fan. Their fans tend to be on the zealous side, which does make for a good Rival. Mizzou fans tend to be on the redneck side, which also makes for a good rival… I’ve got nothing.

🤣🤣way to stay strong cowboy! I'm not one to rag on other teams kids, more of a cheer for the cowboy guy. I try to stay respectful especially at big 12's, you never know whose family member is sitting near you lol.

To me it is easily Iowa State. They seem to be the team poised to be our biggest in-conference competition. They are a regular Big 12 team so we play them in everything. I think that matters. Throw in the Perry factor and to me it is clearly them.

I came to my first match in the earlyish 70’s. Been a fan my whole life of 56 years. I rarely post on here but I’ve been on here since 2003. Back in the day we had several Cyclone posters that were knowledgeable and very respectful. Actually met up with a few for beers on more than one occasion. Every fan base has their A-holes. I’m just saying my trips to Ames vs my trips to Columbia are wildly different. Also I’ve noticed when a team is down like ISU was for years the fan base gets a little quiet. When success comes back the chucklenuts show up. Just observation. I’m sure we’ve got a few ourselves. Obe can get pretty obnoxious! lol
