I've been watching the first few episodes of Iron FIST. I don't know why people were complaining. I like it better than Luke Cage.
Because mainstream wants to quickly throw out racism and whitewashing... look at the Ghost in the Shell film

Now I'm going to have to watch Iron Fist. By far the best was Jessica Jones, followed by Dare Devil.

We had a big discussion about it in the Iron Fist thread. It was tough to make it through the whole thing. Only did it for the sake of The Defenders.

It's not that bad at all. The negative reviews have been way over the top. It's not as good as Jessica Jones or Dare Devil, but it's also not a bad show.
It's painfully bad. It's like watching someone turn bad stock photos of business into a TV show.

The drunk Kung fu guy should have been the Iron Fist. It was the first time a fight scene didn't look like a B-movie.

Like I said. Over the top. It's not that bad. Is it the best? No it's not, but quit acting like this show is on the level of the Star Wars holiday special.

I struggled thru Jessica Jones. She was insufferable as a character.

You and I don't see eye to eye on a single super hero based movie/TV show. I thought it was the strongest of the 4 (besides the fact that she didn't figure out sooner that wearing headphones would make the bad guy ineffective)

Daredevil was the best imo.

She just doesn't have a redeemable quality that makes you want to root for her. Of course that's just my opinion.

I'm still not finished with Ironfist (who was one of my favorite Marvel characters when I was a kid), so I can't really fully comment on it. I'm not crazy about their choice as an actor. He certainly SHOULD NOT have been Oriental, because Danny Rand has always been Anglo (unless something has changed about him in the last 30 years).

Okay I'm about halfway through Iron FIST.

Does he ever put on his mask and green outfit or does he go through the whole series looking like a homeless leprechaun?

The latter mostly. He does put on a suit occasionally.

Never the traditional suit or even a more "realistic" version really.

I'm guessing fans of the comic are pretty disappointed with this version.

But I didn't read it, so I can't really say. That's just a hunch.

I have no preconception about Iron Fist, but this is very formulaic.

The best thing so far about this series is the actress Jessica Henwick. She played one of the sand snakes in GoT, and a fighter pilot in Star Wars the force awakens, and now Colleen Wing.

I have a pretty low entertainment threshold when it comes to binge watching. But I fully understand the complaints, the writing on all the Netflix Marvel's series is dreadful. It's embarrassing bad like watching 80's era superhero shows

I wasn't a fan of the Iron Fist, and I am fine with the writing on the Marvel Netflix shows, but I have felt the strength of them so far has been their grittiness that was really no where to be found on Iron Fist. All the characters have definitely been too whiny, but the atmosphere and feel have made up for it. Iron Fist was just too much of all the problems the others have had, imho. I'm sure writing has a lot to do with that. Maybe the fact that I had high hopes for Iron Fist has something to do with my reaction, but I thought it could have been so much better!

Haven't started Jessica Jones and went in blind (no pun intended) on Iron Fist and Luke Cage and I could watch Luke Cage again, I feel like Netflix owes me a months subscription back for Iron Fist. It literally went no where the entire series and he is so dang whiny it makes it hard to watch. It's like he went away when he was 11, physically grew up but stayed an 11 year old beyotch.

Defenders looks interesting.

Didn't finish some of the individual shows but this looks really good.

Had an all night binge last night. Anyone watching yet?

I finished it last night. I thought it was pretty good. Jessica Jones and Dare Devil were the best of the 4. The villains weren't very impressive, considering past shows. It was cool to see the 4 heroes fight together.
