I disagree. Harris was picked for numerous reasons. She positioned herself perfectly for the VP spot.
Gabbard, meanwhile, positioned herself for political irrelevancy. And that is exactly what she got.
I don't want Harris to become President just to win an argument. But when she does become President, there is no doubt Dan will have an epic meltdown. And the sexists/racists will also have a meltdown.
I have nothing against her race or sex...I just think she's a bad politician. I don't think she set herself up more so than the party playing a certain set of cards.

And I don't disagree that the party played a certain set of cards, as they always do when choosing nominees. Harris was smart enough though to position herself to benefit from the cards that would be played. That is what a good politician does. Think, for example, of Harry Truman. Go back and read how he perfectly positioned himself for the VP nomination in '44.
Bad politicians, on the other hand, make
moves that render them irrelevant. Moves that gets them essentially ran out of politics. And that is exactly what Gabbard did.

Tulsi Gabbard should not be considered as a professional politician. She made it clear that flying home to her district in Hawaii from DC almost every weekend was wearing thin on her. She made it clear that she was a “citizen” politician representing her district out of care for her country, not lust for power. There’s no doubt Hillary was looking under every rock to find someone to primary her, but Tulsi has shown she is not one to back away from a fight (especially if the opponent is Hillary Clinton). Just because you think she could not be reelected does not make it so. Unlike Kamala Harris Tulsi does not have an insatiable lust for political prominence. But I get it: you are incapable of understanding that.
But that is exactly what she did. She knew she wasn't going to be able to be re-elected to Congress and that is why she backed away from the fight and didn't run for re-election.
