Houston Chronicle had interesting story in regards to basketball budgets today. For the 2013-2014 NCAA tourney they listed the teams with the top 10 basketball budgets that made the tourney and OSU was 4th with a budget of 11.05 million, behind Louisville at 16.35M, Kentucky
at 16.2M and Duke at 14.18M. OSU's cost per win (18 wins) was $614,156 which was next to last.
Below is another link that shows OSU's basketball budget nationally at 8th highest in the country.
For what is being invested in the program, OSU is getting a terrible ROI, one of the worst in the country.
This was a real eye opener to me, strange the program can not afford to buy Ford out, but yet has the type of resources to put OSU in the elite nationally in terms of budget dollars. This tells me OSU has a significant commitment to winning and any potential new coach should absolutely *iss in his pants for joy to get offered to play in the arena we have with this type of budget and commitment.
