OSU Sports WriterSTILLWATER — On Wednesday, it was reported Oklahoma State plans to part ways with defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo.
He joined the coaching staff as defensive coordinator in 2023.
Nardo’s contract runs out on Jan. 31, 2026, and Oklahoma State owes him 100% of his remaining contract worth $700,000 per year.
Following the 52-0 loss to No. 25 Colorado, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy praised the defensive performance, but that was clearly not enough to salvage Nardo’s tenure after Oklahoma State gave up a single-season record 6.8 yards per play.
This broke the previous record set in Nardo’s first season.
Oklahoma State’s defense etched its place in the school record books after giving up 35.58 points per game, 6.81 yards per play, and 5.41 yards per rush.
