This is running repeatedly in their state media...

On Fox News, not so much.

I do not see an effeminate head bow.

promoting a salute as some sign of weakness
is retarded AF

is somebody bowing?

Insert Obama into the place of Trump in that picture, and ask yourself what would be taking place in the conservative media right now in this country. The meltdown that would be occurring. I mean, just consider what was said over the whole bowing non sense you both reference.

Great propoganda get though for North Korea, and boy are they putting it to use.

Why don’t you do the opposite? Ok for you but not for conservatives.

Stick with a single handle here. Responding with both in the same thread is just embarrassing for you.

An enemy General. That’s a key word but obviously too complex for you to handle

It may just be me, but I'm pretty pissed off seeing the leader of the free world salute a dirty commie.

A simple handshake would have been good enough.
Gonna defend Trump here. He was probably tired. He had a long day. After hours of glad handing and smiling for the camera muscle memory takes over and you salute some guy you see in uniform. Doubt it was a conscious show of respect.

Many veterans are pissed at him for saluting an enemy we’re technically still at war with. Is that “retarded AF” to you?
As usual, you're "retarded AF."

"Despite the fact that there is no official peace treaty between North Korea and the United States, it's not quite correct to say that we're at war (even in a technical sense) because, technically, we weren't at war to begin with. The 1950-53 conflict was conducted under the aegis of the United Nations and was dubbed a "police action" by President Harry Truman. Congress never actually declared war, nor did it authorize a military engagement."

I have mixed feelings about his salute, but this is kinda of a lame excuse. The man is the President of the United States at a very important international meeting. Claiming he is tired, he had a long day, etc. sounds like an excuse you would make for a kid getting home from a long day at the amusement park.

My point with the original post was just to note how North Korea is using the picture and the selective outrage from those on the right.

Part of me agrees with you that this and the Obama bowing is all bull****, but another part of me questions why the President did this knowing there were cameras around. Plus, isn't it one thing to engage in a custom bow to our allies and another to salute a general of North Korea?

I can empathize with him since I have ****ed up closing handshakes after particularly long and grueling job interviews.

Sure, but I doubt you have ever been confronted with a saluting general from North Korea before with cameras recording your every move. Like AC2017 noted, he could have just given a simple handshake and moved on. It took him time to give that salute.

Is this the excuse for the foolish comments he made afterwards too?

You said "an enemy we're technically still at war with." No, technically we aren't and never were. You're simply full of shit as usual. Own it or wear it. #facts

I’ll call it a war just like Trump calls em “war games” lol. Own it or wear it #facts

Ok, President Trump should not have saluted. Mistake. Now that that is out of the way, what do you want to discuss.....

I'd love to have a reasonable discussion about our North Korean policy and the options Trump is going to have going forward (especially given his most recent actions).

You game?

Now our President saluted our enemy's generals.

Another first for this conservative Presidency.

Hanoi Jane didn't even do that. Took them about 10 seconds to have a video of it looping on state tv. You may recall that Dumbya kissed the saudi King on his mouth like a 16 year old after prom. Truly inexplicable, how primally servile these conservatives become when confronted with someone that holds some perceived advantage. Interesting psychological study.

Imagine what Biff will do to Putin. Biff better hope Vlad doesn't eat any asparagus before their summit, if you know what I'm sayin'...
