MasterCard: Biggest Christmas in History

MasterCard doesn't sell anything. And people didn't just start paying by swiping cards or any equivalent this year.

When you set out to go full retard, you invent new levels of it.

He's got skills we could only DREAM of having.

MasterCard has record sales because more people are choosing to buy stuff online. That’s not even debatable. I’m

It doesn’t more than a basic understanding of modern economic realities to know that people are swiping cards on their phone, not handing over cash at the register.

Mind blown I know.
Let me help you before you triple down on stupid. From the article that you either didn't read or can't understand..

"Shares of U.S. department stores jumped on Tuesday as Mastercard Inc said shoppers spent over $800 billion during the season, more than ever before, boosted by growing consumer confidence, rising employment and early discounts."

This is like hootin and hollerin at the away game tied at the end of the first quarter. Pom poms all around.

And, from the article:

SpendingPulse said the moderate sales increases seen in apparel and department stores were particularly impressive given this year's slew of store closures.

Online sales rose 18.1 percent during the holiday season, thanks to a late rally in sales, according to Mastercard.

"But that's probably only 11 or 12 percent of total retail sales ... the bulk of sales still is very much in stores," said Quinlan.

Is that your way of saying that you don't know what the hell you're talking about and revert to it being too early in the Trump presidency to extrapolate for his full presidency? In other words, you're changing the subject.

You can’t claim #winning if you don’t even really know what’s coming yet.

Let’s see where this thread is a year from now. I would imagine even more growth in online sales.

Do you even have any idea what it is you're arguing?

I’ll go slower for you...

OP: MasterCard record spending
Me: People are buying more stuff online
You: Spin, anti-liberal PSA, more spin, consumer confidence, more spin
Me: Here’s US Census proving my point
You: Lowering your post quality to save likes accumulation, including personal attack
Me: #winning

Seriously? Your own link refutes your position, of course you want to defer this thread to a year from now in hopes it is forgotten and saves you anymore public humiliation.

Trump won the election, congrats on Hillary polling well which is the libs version of what is coming, #winning.

Wtf? You can't really be this useless. Can you?

The article isn't an article about online spending. It's about the record total spending, of which online is a part of.

Not a single person is arguing against the growth in online spending. That has been growing as a segment FOR YEARS.

Links to Hillary’s current influence on White House or Congressional policy? I’m all ears.

I love this thread. I am gonna agree with Clintoon though he makes an excellent point in all this.

Going after the current first lady proves your point that this is just a first quarter pom pom overcheer due to online sales making overall record breaking sales a bad data point?

Wow. You really are smart (in somebody's perspective, I assume).
Geez dude, get with the facts. People spent a record amount this holiday season because online sales have increased. How you can't see that increased online sales drives consumers to spend more is beyond me. So simple that even Chunk Scott figured it out.

Need help here: if DJT gets credit for Comcast bonuses, who gets blame for AT&T layoffs? Just want to be right from the beginning on this...

how gifted are you, and by whom specifically?
toontown finally made Department Mgr at Service Merchandise. I’d say that’s pretty gifted. 2018 = calling 742-DINE on the weekends for some late night Egg Roll Express or Casa Bonita!

Are you referring to the field techs they are laying off that were employed to install what are now old technologies that the company is wanting to let die off?
So we can safely say that those layoffs are a good thing then... OK, appreciate the talking points guidance.

Sshhhhhhhh. The facts don't matter when he's raging against the DJT.
Tell me more facts about what DJT to influence Amazon employment rates. Wanna be sure when facts matter and when they don't.

Facts and DJT in the same sentence, you made me smile!

Let's pretend that you, David Allen, are a business consultant for a company that sells both typewriters and computers. One day they call you and say, we appear to be overstaffed in areas and they ask you for suggestions on how to remedy the situation.

What do you suggest to them?

No reason to be hypothetical - I have been the grim reaper more than once in my career laying off or otherwise terminating more than I care to admit. Hard business decisions are hard, but they are nonetheless made. If you can't see the hypocrisy in taking credit for good news (regardless of the underlying business fundamentals) but very specifically denying accountability for bad news (regardless of the underlying business fundamentals) then I can't help you... or in this case DJT sycophants.

Let me help you then, cutting dead wood helps new trees sprout and getting rid of outdated equipment and those that will no longer be needed to service it will allow more focus to be placed on the parts of the business that are growing and hire people that work in those areas.

Sparky, when I need your advice I will ask....

I'm not sure how they could outsource DirecTV and internet installers to oversea companies, but if the union says it is true and that it is being done just to harm the union, it must be so.

Regarding hiring contractors, if I had an area of my business that was declining and I could take care of the current work load with contractors instead of union workers that will sue me when they are no longer needed, I would go with the contractors in a heartbeat.
