I didn't know there was a census for white people and a secondary provisional census for non-whites.
People who are not in this country legally should not be counted for House representation. Period.
The Democrats want them to be counted. It boils down to that. Why do you think they are having sanctuary states? So illegals will migrate there. That then would give them more pull in the House and in the Electoral College.
This has to be fought and stopped.

Constitution says differently. Constitution says ”all” people. Nothing about illegal or legal.
Hate to point the obvious but evidently some people are drunk on the kool-aide, the census with the American Citizen question counts all people.
Why would ‘Indians not taxed’ be excluded from the apportionment process? Because they aren’t citizens. The obvious intent was that citizens be counted for apportionment via the census. The 14th amendment gives equal protection across states.
Illegals in this country should not count towards apportionment to the House. Period.

If we are to count all persons here during the census, why no attempt to count vacationers in the states at the time? The Los Angeles olympics had over 5 million visitors who were persons in the state and would have given California a few more Representatives in the House.

A Hill-Harris poll in May showed 60% of all Americans want the citizenship question on the census. 53% of blacks and 53% of Hispanics want the question on the census.

I suspect it is also about federal funding issues, through things like dept of ed and whatnot. Any additional funding lends relief to state governments having to come up with the funds directly from taxpayers in those states which if insufficient means more taxes.
There is also the aspect that they have no arrows left in their quiver, hell even the BET founder was giving Trump kudos on the economy and complaining that the dem's are too far left.

In the past Democrats always talked about the plight of the poor and how if they were elected, they would solve poverty without any effort from those living in poverty. Now Democrats have dumped those in poverty and are openly and lovingly embracing illegal aliens who will be taking more Government funding away from those in poverty.
If memory serves, before they figured out illegals could be bought like chattel for their votes, dims were harder on illegals than repubs, who just selfishly wanted the cheap labor.

Amazing we have a couple of posters on-here against having a census of citizens. And suddenly against a checkbox that occurred for many decades until Obama killed it.
There is ZERO reason not to include a checkbox for citizenship ...unless you want the federal government to take money from American citizens and give to non-citizens.
