Many believe there will be additional realignment when the new media deals expire in five or so years. Assuming the SEC and Big10 deals deliver for the rights holders and they decide further conference expansion makes sense, both these two conferences could grow to 20 or so teams each. With this leaves several solid programs without a home. So to compete with the rich conferences (I won't call a league with Rutgers, Maryland and Northwestern a "mega conference") While it is truly speculation, put together a league/conference with 20 teams that are somewhat in the same zip code as the SEC/B10?
Assume Oregon, Washington, Stanford, Cal, FSU, Miami, Notre Dame and North Carolina are not available, and don't worry about current conference ties or affiliations.
