Massively important race. Pubs currently have 52 in the Senate.
And there are 3 RINOs, McConnell, Murkowski and Collins. So we need to get to 54 to have a 'RINO-proof' majority.
It looks like Sam Collins and Mike McCormick in NV and PA will both win. So we need 2 of these last 3 races, at least. All 3 would be better.
I don't think folks understand how important it is to hit at least 54 in the Senate: With that number, any Trump appointment to his administration or any Federal Judge nomination (including SCOTUS), flies through without any issue.

I get this, but I'm sorry. I want Vivek to get the Treasury Secretary job, so he can clean house at the SEC and CFTC.
That's precisely what needs to happen. Because we need to see him in action and see how Vivek votes. Same thing for Lake. If they do well, then move them up and give them a chance at bigger things.
We have a potentially very deep MAGA bench. Over the next 4 years the people that step up will put themselves in a solid position to contend for Trump's slot or VP in 2028.
There is no chance any of those 3 Senators hold up a nominee. This is paranoia.
It literally took Trump 18 months in his first term to fill all his appointments due to the Senate delaying the process.

Maybe. Trump might already have a slot for him in the executive.
Depending on the role and how he could do, Senator might be a better resume builder and position of influence. I want to see him in action either way - I think that he, Vance, and DeSantis are possibly the top three pubs in 28
Isn’t the VP the President of the Senate (and a vote)?
With Trump’s self funded early transition team, I think he has learned a lesson.
If any appointment drags on at the start of this term it almost has to be 100% on the Senate, and I don’t see that happening with these results.
If I remember correctly, pubs had either 51 or 52 in 2016, but three of those were Mittens, Collins and Murkowski. IIRC, it took them over a year to approve freaking Ben Carson.
The appointments go through Senate so they would be the drag. Kari looks to be closing strong so hopefully we can hit at least 54 then it shouldn't be an issue.
Don't forget Mr. Keating 5 and McConnel were working against Trump along with Paul Ryan in the House.
I will give the Turtle partial credit, he hammered through Trump's judge appointments like a champ. But the second he won re-election and they stole 2020 from Trump, he threw him under the bus.
Only 67% of the vote in for Maricopa county. That’s going to be a problem.

Agreed Vivek would be absolutely wasting his time and talents in the senate. He definitely needs to get somewhere that his knowledge and expertise can effect change and clean up the "experts" messes.

Kari and Kamala had almost the exact same number of votes. It's insane.
I highly doubt it.
