From a second vendor that because of Trump’s tariffs we are to expect price increases without notice, to call and confirm the price on all future orders. That’s the way to business plan! I *love* that fantastic negotiating technique from the master negotiator!

Vacuum motors and floor tools made in China, South Korea and Vietnam are of the highest quality. That’s why American manufacturers of central vacuums offer lifetime warranties on them. That’s not to say if they were made in America they wouldn't also be of high quality. But they would be of much higher price, and that would push out the “lower end” consumer from the market.

Shop around, I am sure you will be fine. Slave labor is not always the best route longterm anyway.

I don’t buy the motors (except as replacements), I buy the power units with the motors in them. My vendors do extensive testing. That is why they warrant the product for as long as the buyer lives in the house. By the way very little labor in China would be considered “slave” labor. China has a middle class larger than the entire population of the USA. That doesn’t happen with slave labor. As for your belief that anything that comes from China is cheap plastic junk, that is a hangover from the 1970’s when that was said about Japan. There are Chinese products of extremely high quality made by experienced competent labor. As consumers we are lucky they exist.

Everything I have ever purchased from Japan back in the day was good quality.

"By the 1970s, Japanese manufacturing had undergone a significant transformation. This included advancements in technology, quality control, and engineering, leading to products that were considered to be of solid quality"

"The 1970s marked a turning point where Japanese products, particularly in industries like electronics and automobiles, gained a reputation for reliability and innovation. Many Japanese brands became world-renowned for their quality, including brands like Sony and Toyota."

We are a throw away society now. Crap made in China breaks and is tossed out and its cheap so people just go buy another one and lather rinse repeat. One example is cheap made furniture, tvs etc.

I'm sure there are plenty of products made in China that do not meet your expectations. It would be weird if they did. But you are in error to think everything that comes from there is made cheaply by slave labor. That's not the case. Besides, there are plenty of crappy products made in America as well.

If you are a lawyer (as you have claimed in the past) I'm curious what vendors you buy products from.
Office Depot, Sam’s, Albertsons, Wal-Mart, Entergy, Ford Motor Company, Autozone, Best Buy, Exxon, Chevron, Hewlett Packard, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Circle K and others, but I’m getting tired of typing. (Yeah Dan. You stepped in it again)

Yes, the plight of the Uyghurs is well known, and their incarceration is as despicable as what Israel does in Gaza. But that is not universal within China, and you are wrong to think it is.
Yet you still buy from China that allows such things. Tsk tsk tsk. Gotta get back on the tractor.
