How is it that the government's reported job numbers are staggeringly high, while the private company's calculation was record-breakingly low? I know they never match because they use different methods for their calculations, but have they ever been this divergent? Both articles are even from CNBC by the same author.

What till the revisions come out to see what the number really is. Of recent history is any ort of guide, the numbers will be dramatically lower.
Had to bump this following this month's job report.

February was a step higher in growth from January, which saw a steep downward revision to 229,000, from the initially reported 353,000. Job growth in December also was revised down to 290,000 from 333,000, bringing the two-month total to 167,000 fewer jobs than initially reported.

And suddenly last months data divergence makes sense.

Makes you wonder how real this month's 275K job report is given that Challenger again called it one of the worst February's on record.

No need to wonder, this number is as much BS as all the other numbers put out by this administration.
