derserving...didn't realize how strong she went to the portal.
edit: I guess I should have added "that's $54,000 a month".
Morning roundup
OSU coach Jacie Hoyt’s new contract details released
STILLWATER — Oklahoma State women’s basketball coach Jacie Hoyt received a raise of $150,000 and had an additional year added onto her contract in the new deal agreed to last month. Hoyt will now earn $650,000 per year on a contract that runs through the 2027-28 academic year, according to documents obtained by The Oklahoman on Monday.
The new contract was announced by the university on April 21, roughly a month after Hoyt concluded her first year with the Cowgirls. Hoyt led OSU to an NCAA Tournament berth, which triggered an incentive clause in her initial contract that paid her an additional $40,000. Hoyt is the only OSU coach to lead the program to the NCAA Tournament in her first year.
Hoyt, who turned 36 last month, is regarded as one of the top young coaches in women’s college basketball, after a successful run at Missouri-Kansas City that led to her hiring at OSU in March 2022.
The Cowgirls finished 21-12 with a 10-8 mark in Big 12 play, leading to a fourth-place conference finish.
Hoyt’s offseason has been quite busy already, with the Cowgirls landing five additions from the transfer portal: Rylee Langerman from Arkansas, Quincy Noble from North Texas, Ioanna Chatzileonti from Kansas, Kennedy Fauntleroy from Georgetown and Ale’Jah Douglas from Clemson.
