Should be...it is a fact! Sino-Iron Project Chinese Owners (Citic-Pacific & China Metallurgical Company) with a Chinese company coating the pipe and coating internal field joints (Hilong) one example I saw. Pipe ends were out of round upon delivery, field bends (<3 D) coating was popping off and the spiral welding was crap. Many instances of bare pipe and coated pipe being of dubious quality. Currently most of the companies I work with have quality reps 24/7 at the Chinese plants making sure the process, especially QC, is done right and the pipe is stenciled with the correct codes for the job it is being produced and or coated for.

We get really good forgings and castings from China, but you have to do the leg work to find the good shops.
