FDNY Chief of Department John Hodges fired off an email to other agency honchos warning a reckoning led by the department’s Bureau of Investigation and Trials was coming over the chorus of boos and chants of “Trump” that James received at Thursday’s event.

A reckoning is coming to those who exercised their free speech rights to dare criticize a politician? The only reckoning that should take place is that against the politician and her henchmen for abusing the power of their office to threaten free speech rights of American citizens. I guess New York Democrats want to bring back the Seditions act of 1798.

So let me get this straight. You force your employees to attend a department event. But then you turn it political by inviting literally the most politically divisive public figure in the entire state to speak. And then you vow to hunt down employees who voice opposition to the inherent and inescapable politics of the situation?
