They know what they signed up for. Nobody forced them to take that job.

And if they didn't risk their lives they deserve to "Rot in Hell". I think that was the sentiment when applied to a separate 'first responder who didn't risk his neck'.

As to the original question, if I recall my civics class from school, the House of Representatives submits budgets and controls spending, and last I checked the Dems controlled it. So why haven't the Dems pushed and passed a bill for this yet?
